The hype train that is the Colorado Buffaloes (6-2) is speculated to come to a halt at the end of this season. Superstar QB Shedeur Sanders’ ensuing draft eligibility begs the question of whether the program’s recent upturn has run its course. In this state of uncertainty, Buffs fans believe they have found their savior. Now, they are letting it be known to him incessantly in the hope of luring him to Boulder.

5-star prospect Julian Lewis out of Carrollton High School, Georgia, is the man in question. Lewis is a consensus top-10 QB recruit in the 2025 class and currently a USC commit. However, that has not deterred Colorado, amongst other programs, from chasing him. Lewis is fresh off a visit to Folsom Field, his fourth, during their win against Cincinnati. However, he is lined up to visit another program with a fortuitous turnaround brought about by a head coaching change.

Curt Cignetti and his Indiana Hoosiers (9-0) will host Michigan this weekend. Julian Lewis is reportedly expected to be in attendance. Their success this season with Kurtis Rourke under center is an omen to coach Cignetti’s work with building quarterbacks. Lewis will definitely look at that positively. More so, they have an ace up their sleeve in the form of a long-term association.

Indiana QB coach Tino Sunseri has worked with Lewis in the past. One insider said, “His relationship with Tino Sunseri goes back to him attending camp at Florida State when he was like eight years old”. While Colorado doesn’t quite have a history with the player to fall back on, they have an icon at the helm. Coach Prime has seen onlookers wax lyrical about his style. Also, his prosperous career in the big league would be attractive to a budding pro like Lewis.

Amidst a flurry of Buffalo GIFs, one fan said, “Color to black and white…”. The famous black-white strip of the Buffaloes calls for Julian. It has been donned by two of the best players in the sport this season and has garnered more notoriety than ever. Talking of notoriety, Lewis is the youngest football player to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.

“Let’s goo yungen!🦬🦬🦬” said another Buffs faithful. The Buffalo emoji is a feature of the comment section. “Go Buffs😉” displayed a quiet confidence among the fans to land their man. Deion and Sheduer GIFs were also prominent, apart from a whole host more. Some Indiana fans also made their way to the party in the wake of the news.

Both fanbases choose to shower the young prospect with love and admiration to attract him to their programs. That is surely an interesting strategy. We already know how the Buffs faithful defend and stand behind their players in adversity. They are extending the same attitude to a player Coach Prime is trying to recruit.

Cignetti and Prime will not let up in their pursuit. Whoever manages to recruit Lewis will potentially have a seamless transition into the next iteration of their offense, if not elevate it.
