Julian Lewis isn’t about to budge from his commitment to Lincoln Riley and USC? Colorado gained the upper hand in the JuJu race when the Trojans began to show interest in Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet. But it looks like USC made another push for the star QB, and that, too, was a successful one.

Even with all the potentially obvious signs that Julian Lewis could commit to Coach Prime and the Buffs, it looks like things are about to take an unfortunate turn for Colorado. The coveted QB may have expressed his contentment with Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur Sanders but isn’t that what all potential prospects do? Things are looking grim for the Buffs because they could face a scenario where all their JuJu hope could diminish as they’re in danger of losing their worthy replacement for Shedeur.

On3 Josh Newberg just had a talk with senior recruiting reporter Scott Schrader about the future of Julian Lewis on On3 Recruits on August 17. According to Schrader, there is a high chance that the Carrollton standout will eventually choose USC, the program he’s committed to right now. He said, “I think there’s a legit interest and there’s also a legit interest in getting things squared away and solidified with Julian Lewis… I think [Julian and his family] finally got on the phone with Riley and they talked it over… I think that USC just would prefer Julian kind of solidifying and letting everybody knows he’s solid… Right now I have no reason to believe that Julian Lewis will not end up at USC.”

This came after Julian Lewis’ statement during his interaction with ESPN’s Craig Haubert before his HS season opener against Woodward Academy on Friday night. The 5-star QB said, “As of right now, I’m still locked in with USC. That’s still where my home is. Taking visits is kind of a part of the process, I was going to go see what’s going on everywhere else, but I’m still USC right now.” Things could change but as of his statement, it looks like Colorado’s WeWantJuJu chant might not be able to lure him to commit to the Buffs. And USC isn’t the only threat to Colorado.

Colorado faces another threat from Indiana

Is Julian Lewis the game-changer USC needs, or is Coach Prime's Colorado being unfairly overlooked?

Have an interesting take?

Just two days back, Julian Lewis made it clear that he is also drawn towards the Indiana Hoosiers, one of the solid contenders in the JuJu race. As per the conversation on August 14’s Locked On Buffs with Kevin Borba and Brian Smith, HC Curt Cignetti and Indiana might overtake Colorado in winning the interest of Lewis. If you’re wondering how Indiana found a dominant place in the race, it might have to do with their co-offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri.

Lewis is obsessed with Sunseri and even said of him, “Coach Tino’s been my guy for a long time. He was like the first guy to really kind of open my dad’s eyes and my eyes to the whole college football thing… I probably wouldn’t have thought about it if coach Tino wasn’t there and stuff.” Colorado created their hope around Julian Lewis, even naming a Boulder burger joint after him. While suspense hangs thick in the air, the real pressure will be on Julian Lewis himself who’ll have a hard time choosing between his top choices.
