Is Texas A&M the dark horse that will shake up the college football rankings this season?

Mike Elko‘s team registered their fourth consecutive victory this season in week 5. Texas A&M Aggies are currently at the top of the SEC, winning a 2-0 conference record after defeating Arkansas by 4 points. Jay Bateman’s defense pressured Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green throughout the game. Both teams started with lots of aggression, and it looked like a high-scoring game but soon turned into a defensive battle. The Aggies rushed for 137 yards and secured the 21-17 win over one of the top rush defenses in the country.

The team’s impressive bounce back after their season opener defeat against Notre Dame has left a mark on many fans and analysts. Josh Pate, a sports commentator, is one of them; he recently shared a video on his YouTube channel ‘Josh Pate’s College Football Show’. Josh Pate strongly believes the Aggies still have great potential and a lot of games to play this season. They will display their phenomenal talent and achieve significant success this year. “A&M’s a team that I’m not giving up on. Same Vibe, uh, that I should have had in retrospect with Clemson week one; they lose to Georgia, um, don’t be punting on teams with that good a coaching staff, and those talent rosters just don’t give up on him in September.”

Before stepping on the ground, head coach Elko was very well aware of the intensity of facing Razorbacks. One of the reasons was their aggressive defense and also because they won their last two games before they met the Aggies. He is happy with how his team handled the pressure and won their second SEC game. Aggies and Razorbacks first played against each other in 1903.

Pate added, “I hadn’t given up on Texas A&M; they’re sitting in; they’re on the fringe of the top 25 in the AP; not giving up on them, and now they get Missouri at home this weekend, then they got to buy can still do some special things this year; they’re limited okay.” Affiges defensive end showcased some impressive performance, which was the major highlight of Saturday’s victory. He had two sacks, and with his tackle with less than two minutes left on the board, he helped his team to win.

Missouri Tigers undefeated and real challenge for Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies will continue their SEC play this weekend and host the Missouri Tigers at Kyle Field. With their back-to-back four victories, they are one step closer to the national championship. On the other hand, the undefeated Missouri Tigers are equally strong on both sides. The team has dominated their starting three games this season. They secured their narrow victory against Vanderbilt in overtime. So far, the Tigers have averaged 36.5 points per game and displayed top talent in the NCAA. One of their key players is wide receiver Luther Burden III, who will enter the field this Saturday with an impressive 257 yards and four touchdowns.
