From being projected to be the last in the conference to ending the year as No.1. You have outdone yourself. Nothing is more scary in CFB right now other than the transfer portal or the quick flips using the NIL. LSU had a shocker this year. Brian Kelly had locked in Bryce Underwood, but what happened? Michigan dropped bags on the table and Underwood was gone… Also, it hasn’t exactly been a low tide for Bama. 14 players swept away by the transfer portal amidst the 9-win season. Kind of hurts when you think about it, but this is the current landscape of college football and it ain’t going away anytime soon.
However, while other teams deal with their losses, one from the Big 12 hasn’t even been touched. “No 2024 starters have entered the portal,” Chris Karpman pointed out on X. The program in question? ASU. Kenny Dillingham is probably used to making records. The Devils were projected to end the year at the bottom of the barrel, but they clawed their way to the top and almost ended up winning against the Longhorns.
Now, when it comes to the portal, “Only three projected 2025 two-deep players have entered thus far.” This is a big win for the program, and it says a lot about their culture. Yeah, they couldn’t win the natty, but they sure did manage to slap the haters across their faces!!

We knew that Kenny was going to end up becoming big in CFB. Back during the Longhorns game, the half-time interview gave us a glimpse of how good of an HC Kenny has been. “We’re not running the ball great right now, we’ve got to be better. I’m gonna do a better job at coaching,” Kenny had pointed out.
Like how many HC would open admit coaching mistakes publicly during half-time? Even when we talk about the portal issues, Kenny has always been very positive. Landen “Lando” Thomas is one of the 2025 players who has hit the portal and ASU HC openly endorsed him on X.
“No brainer for somebody out there!!!! Wants to play! Great person!” Kenny wrote while sharing Landen’s film. After all of this, it’s a no-brainer why players don’t want to transfer out of ASU. We cannot wait to see what the Devils bring to the table in 2025.

When we tell you that ASU almost made the Horns “sh-t a brick”, we aren’t joking. Pulling 31 points against a roster that Steve Sarkisian has built is a big task. He-k even Georgia struggled to go past 20 during the SEC title game.
Texas indeed had the lead almost throughout the game, but ASU did an amazing job catching up in the 4th quarter. Cam Skattebo turned QB for a second and launched a big pass to Malik McClain, which resulted in a massive 8-point gain (2-point conversion).
Follow that up with Cam’s 2-yard run and you’re looking at a 24-24 OT push. If it wasn’t for that one interception during overtime, this could’ve very well been another Georgia Tech vs Georgia situation.

If Kenny and ASU continue to build from here on, nothing is going to stop them from hitting the No.1 spot in 2025 as well.
