Ten elite recruits have already committed to head coach Dan Lanning and his staff, giving the Oregon Ducks the top recruiting class in 2026. Most recently, Lanning made progress on his goal of recruiting another elite recruit to his elite class. Although the Oregon Ducks are concentrating on their upcoming Rose Bowl game against OSU, they are still creating waves in the recruiting world. On New Year’s Eve, the CFP quarterfinal round begins. Before then, there was some positive news for the playoff team. After breaking the news, CFB playoff teams circle Lanning’s Oregon.
Immanuel Iheanacho, a 5-star OT, told Steve Wiltfong of On3 on Monday which team is the best fit for him. The top team for the No. 2 talent in the 2026 class, according to the On3, is the No. 1 Oregon. “He has a new number one it’s Oregon. The Oregon Ducks,” said the On3 recruiter. He stands 6′ 6.5″ and weighs 350 pounds and is a student at Georgetown Preparatory School in MD. Iheanacho is the number one Maryland talent and the second-overall player in his class.
“I like coach Terry (Oregon offensive line coach), coach Dan Lanning, really young coach, they’ve been winning games and have products, Penei Sewell, and they’ve got some other guys coming up in this draft,” said the standout OT. Moreover, he stated, “I just love the whole dynamic, the whole campus at Oregon, the practice fields, how the weight room is set up. . . . It was straight love when I got down there. The gear is amazing. That’s not the most important part, but the gear is amazing.”

Iheanacho will become the 2nd OT selected by the Ducks in the 2026 class if he commits to Oregon. Kodi Greene, an OT ranked four stars, has already committed to head coach Lanning. As of now, Oregon has the top-ranked 2026 class in the Big 10 and the country. Ten commits total—two 3-stars, seven 4-stars, and one 5-star—are on the Ducks.
But Lanning isn’t the only one vying for this 350LB OT position. There are further CFB playoff teams. What is the next priority after Oregon? And then, who? See here for all the answers.

Immanuel Iheanacho declared that two teams are now at the forefront of his recruitment. We already know the No. 1 is the Ducks, so who is the second one? It was Georgia Bulldogs, as per the 5-star OT. Oregon appears to be in the lead, with the Bulldogs coming in a close second. Although Iheanacho declared these two as top priorities, Penn State is in the 3rd position.
In addition to this, there are numerous others. He is also being pursued by Texas A&M, Alabama, Maryland, USC, Oklahoma, Vols, and Ohio State. “Those are not set yet, but those are schools I am looking to visit for the first time soon,” said Immanuel Iheanacho.
However, Iheanacho was given the opportunity to work out in front of the coaches and participate in drills while the staff evaluated him during the Ducks’ Saturday Night Live camp in August earlier this year. We will probably see him visit Oregon in the upcoming months as he continues to whittle down his recruiting.
