College football is going to enter its ninth week! The favorites for the natty keep changing every week. The same is true for the most-renowned individual crown- the Heisman Trophy. Who is taking the Heisman Trophy home this season? This is the most discussed question among analysts, football insiders, and experts. Coach Prime believes that his two-way star, Travis Hunter, deserves the trophy this year. He is often seen passionately taking his side. On the other hand, we have Shedeur Sanders, who has been delivering some phenomenal game plays throughout the season. Do you remember his Hail Mary TD pass against Baylor? Unfortunately, neither of them is currently among the top three players in the Heisman Trophy race.
Hunter was in the top three during week 7. However, he left the field last Saturday because he aggravated the right shoulder injury he suffered against Kansas State. Will his injury stop him from getting closer to the trophy? The X account of College Football Report shared an updated list of Heisman contenders. Miami Hurricanes’s quarterback, Cam Ward, is leading the race. And why not? Hurricanes have extended their undefeated record to 7-0. “Updated Heisman odds (FanDuel) 1. Cam Ward +230 1. Recently, Hunter was part of the Outta Pocket With RGIII, which was hosted by 2011 Heisman winner Robert Griffin III. He was questioned about his chances for the Heisman trophy. Without hesitating, he stated, “I know I can win it. I don’t know who is there. Y’all see Ashton Jeanty, but it’s not like we haven’t seen a running back that’s good. We haven’t seen a player that plays both ways, and I’m gonna keep saying that.”
Hunter’s comment went viral, and it took no time to reach Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Bleacher Report reported his reply. Jeanty appreciated Hunter’s performance and the extraordinary abilities he brings to the field and stated, “Kudos to Travis, he’s balling for real. He’s doing some stuff we ain’t ever seen nobody do. Personally, I don’t take no offense to it. He’s just speaking his opinion, everybody’s got an opinion.”

He further shed light and expressed his excitement about potentially breaking long-standing college football records. “For me, what I’ve been doing hasn’t been done in 36, 37 years, so that’s something special,” he added. “If I keep that up and break a record that’s been around for 36 years, I feel like you can’t really compete with that.”
