Can Georgia really topple Texas, or is this just wishful thinking from the experts?

Weekly upsets make the most interesting headlines! Week 7 of the regular college football season saw favorites like USC and Tennessee falling to underdogs. But what shocking upsets will Week 8 bring to the table? According to a CBS Sports insider, No. 1 Texas could be seeing their first defeat of the season this Saturday.

On October 17, CBS Sports College Football posted a video of the experts on X giving their predictions on the upcoming Week 8 football games. As the post reads, “ICF upset picks for Week 8: @AaronTaylorCFB – Georgia over Texas @JonesN4mo – North Texas over Memphis @randyxrossFB – Georgia Tech over Notre Dame @CoachNeuheisel – Georgia Tech over Notre Dame.”

CBS Sports CFB analysts Aaron Taylor and Brian BJ Jones are leading the upset prediction with 7-2 points each so far. They also have the same picking records at 60 points (38-20). So while this may be a huge surprise from Aaron Taylor’s Week 8 upset choice, it still holds depth. He said, “I’m picking Georgia to beat Texas.” “Uh-oh!” Taylor continued, and you should mark his prediction, “I just feel it. It’s like one of those years nobody’s gonna be undefeated. Kirby Smart will get his team ready in Texas. This is gonna be the best pass defense [offense] they’ve seen.” According to him, Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns fall as +3.5 underdogs to the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs.

As for Jones, his Week 8 upset prediction goes to Memphis, whom he feels will fall to North Texas this Saturday. Memphis is entering the game 5-1 as an 11.5-point favorite to win over the Mean Green. But according to Jones, North Texas has a +10.5 chance to deliver an upset over the Tigers. Consider this, the Mean Green entering 5-1 ranks 13th in the nation in scoring offense with 40.8 points per game. Anyhow, one particular game caught the attention of two insiders.

Can Georgia Tech win over Notre Dame?

Georgia Tech and No. 12 Notre Dame’s upcoming clash in Mercedes-Benz Stadium is already drawing lots of speculation. While the majority of the favor goes to the Fighting Irish to win the game, both College Football HoFer Randy Cross and former CFB coach Rick Neuheisel chose to think otherwise. According to their predictions, the Yellow Jackets have a +11.5 chance to upset their ranked opponent.

Notre Dame will enter Saturday’s game as an 11.5-point favorite seeking a chance in the CFP. But they’re also suffering from injuries this season, with the latest loss being CB Benjamin Morrison who suffered a season-ending injury. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech HC Brent Key has shown the power of leading an underdog this season. The Yellow Jackets have delivered multiple upsets starting with their season opener by beating No. 10 Florida State 24-21. Let’s keep a watch on these predictions that will be confirmed in a couple of days.
