We always have time for some good old banter between coaches. As the 2024 season nears, looks like everyone wants some smoke. Back during a conference, we spotted Lane Kiffin, HC for Rebels, bashing Coke for the quantity of sugar present in the drinks. Kiffin was quick to point out that a single bottle had around “130%” sugar. This is probably an entire day’s worth of sugar intake present in a single plastic bottle. While this was a good move to raise some awareness, the HC for the Tigers was not having it.

On3 took to X on August 22nd to share the clip where Brian Kelly was found trolling Lane Kiffin because of his remarks regarding Coke. Mockingly, Kelly went on to say, “Just a shout-out to our sponsor, Coke.” He went straight to grab a bottle of Smartwater (a Coke product) and mentioned how it has multiple vitamins and minerals present in it which helps out the body. Kelly ends his trolling by taking one last sip from the bottle and settling it down. This ain’t even the first time he and Kiffin have gone up against each other. Back in July, Kiffin had taken a shot at Kelly when a video of him and HC Eli Drinkwitz got posted on the internet. The videos showed Kelly and Drinkwitz breaking some moves with their recruits. “Just when I thought BK’s couldn’t be beat,” Kiffin had noted. Also, their entire rivalry goes way back as well. Both coaches were at Notre Dame and Trojans, respectively.

Kelly still holds the lead at 3-2 after all the 5 matches they have played against each other. Also, ESPN even thinks that Kelly and the Tigers will easily grab a win over Kiffin and the Rebels.  While Kiffin has got star QB Jaxon Dart on his team, many fans still believe that the Tigers will take over with ease. However, if we shift our focus from the game to the entire trolling scene, then it’s safe to say that fans are not holding back at calling out Brian Kelly for his “failed” trolling attempt.

In Lane Kiffin’s defense

One fan was quick to point out that Brain Kelly has no idea that normal water and smartwater are the same. “Only a dumba** like BK would think Smart Water is anything other than normal ass water,” they wrote on X. While we don’t know the exact details of it, we can still say that water is water. Another fan pointed out that Kelly’s “trolling” was not even funny. “trolls are supposed to actually be funny btw,” they mentioned. Following this, another fan shared the sentiment that Brain Kelly always tries too hard to be funny. “BK tries WAY too hard,” they noted.

Another fan pointed out an important thing regarding Kiffin’s initial comments about Coke. “lol lane keeping it real and trying let the people that shit no good for the body,” they mentioned. It is true that while every corporate overlord would want you to buy their product, you have to keep in mind that a drink that has 39 grams of sugar cannot be good for your body. Finally, one final fan ended things by calling out Kelly yet again. “Brian Kelly is so cringe it’s actually unbearable. Dude meat rides for a living,” they wrote. It’s kind of wild to think that before the 2024 season starts, the biggest things on the minds of these coaches are drinks and sugar.
