Carjackings and thefts are exploding across the country, and no city seems safe. Even former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck had his Mercedes and Lamborghini swiped in Miami last month. Just when you think things might SETTLE down…another stolen ride, another person left scrambling. Will these car thefts ever slow down? Now Atlanta’s streets ain’t exactly known for being friendly to anything with wheels either. But this one hits a little too close to home. And it ain’t just anybody—it’s former Southeast Missouri State University linebacker Keilyn Tyus who’s out here hollering for help.

On March 10th, Tyus took to his Instagram, sounding the alarm with a cry-for-help post and story about his white wide-body Dodge Charger with the license plate tag CYG4122. The thing was straight-up snatched near the Downtown Georgia State University area. And his IG caption pretty much said it all: “If seen, please contact me or the police. Stolen Downtown GSU Area. Share please. I just want my car back 🙏🏾.”

Now, if it were anybody else, maybe it wouldn’t hit the same. But you got his younger brother, CJ Allen, who just so happens to be killing it as a linebacker for the Georgia Bulldogs, chiming in for backup. CJ didn’t waste no time either, hopping on IG with a post blasting, “Stolen !!! Tag! CYG4122,” and tagging his bro. And 2 hours later, he doubled down and reposted again with an address of the car’s last seen location. The kid’s got his brother’s back, no doubt. And if you know CJ’s name, you know the LB’s making some serious noise at Georgia. But before we dive into his rising stardom, let’s talk about how wild the Atlanta car theft scene’s been lately.

Apparently, Keilyn’s robbery ain’t just bad luck. It’s part of a trend. Car theft in the Atlanta area, especially at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, has been a serious problem. Just last year, over 300 cars got snatched from the airport alone per SUN. That’s almost triple the previous year’s count. The Atlanta PD’s been trying to clap back, stepping up with more patrols, undercover ops, and next-level surveillance. But clearly, there’s still work to do.

Keilyn’s story hits harder when you realize his journey’s been anything but smooth. Hailing from Barnesville, Georgia, the man’s a straight-up versatile athlete. He balled out in both football and basketball at Lamar County High School before locking in at Southeast Missouri State University as an outside linebacker. During the 2021 season, he was showing out on special teams, dropping seven tackles with one for loss. By 2023, though, his name was off the SEMO roster. Life’s been throwing curveballs, and now having his car jacked is low-key sad.

Is CJ Allen ready for the big 2025 season?

Now let’s talk about his little bro, CJ Allen. Unlike Keilyn, CJ’s been riding high on success. Also from Barnesville, Georgia, CJ’s been showing out since high school. The Georgia native was dropping 84 tackles in his senior year while also flexing on offense with over 1,600 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns. All that hype earned him a spot in the 2023 All-American Bowl before committing to Georgia. And let us tell you, the Bulldogs scored a real one.

CJ’s freshman year was a little slow, just playing backup. But when Jamon Dumas-Johnson went down, it was CJ’s time to step up. And boy, did he. Starting five out of fourteen games and putting up 41 tackles and one sack? Yeah, the kid was ready for prime-time. And the 2024 season only made his stock rise higher. CJ racked up 76 tackles, including 49 solos, three tackles for loss, an interception, and four pass deflections. He even snagged an interception against Florida, helping Georgia take the W with a 34-20 win. That’s the type of stuff that makes coaches and scouts drool.

Heading into the 2025 season, CJ Allen is primed for a monster year. Georgia’s stacked with big home games this season, and you better believe Allen’s licking his chops at the idea of wrecking some poor offense’s game plan. When you’re playing in Athens, that crowd noise is like having a whole extra linebacker on the field. And this time around, CJ is stepping into the spotlight as one of the main dudes on defense. And the kicker?

This is his third year under Glenn Schumann’s coaching. You look back at Georgia’s linebacker history, and there’s a pattern—Roquan Smith, Channing Tindall, Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, all hit their prime in Year 3. If history’s got anything to say about it, CJ Allen’s about to go nuclear this season.

But for now, CJ Allen is just trying to get his brother’s car back. Hopefully, he finds it. With Keilyn’s white Dodge Charger still MIA, all eyes are on Atlanta’s streets. And while CJ’s focus is locked in on the 2025 season, you know he’s not letting this one slide. It’s family first, always for Georgia people.
