Even if Deion Sanders manages to crack the national championship, the world will still snub him. The Buffs are in a spot that even Coach Prime wouldn’t have thought they could land up in. When Joel Klatt mentioned that Deion Sanders and Colorado are the “dark horse” of college football, he wasn’t wrong. Deion Sanders has had a huge impact with 3 back to back solid wins and grabbing the 2nd spot on the Big 12 list.
But here we are again, with announcers overlooking Colorado for the 12-team playoff projections. On the latest post by CBS Sports on Instagram, 4 different announcers have snubbed the Buffs from their projection list. See, up to a certain point, it is understandable why the Buffs are not on the list. Longhorns, Bama, Sooners, Bulldogs, Rebels, etc. These are far superior teams, but you still gotta cut Coach Prime some slack.

His roster is at a peak performance level. Take the offense as an example. After Matt Rhule and the Huskers managed to exploit and expose Deion Sanders’ offensive line yet again, Coach Prime bounced back with a much stronger O-line.
Against the Rams or Baylor, the offensive line gave Shedeur Sanders more than enough protection. This allowed the QB to make some notable plays (A good example is the Hail Mary during the Baylor game, which pushed the Buffs to overtime).

And on the other hand, we got Travis Hunter. This dude has been phenomenal. So good that people want to bend the Heisman rules and hand him the cup right now. Hunter has been on point as a WR and as a CB. Against the Rams, he made history with his stats. Against Baylor and UCF; he was on point with his conversions and rushes. It looks like the Wildcats game will be the only one that can finally make people start talking about the Buffs.
Deion Sanders’ final test

The only team that stands between Coach Prime and becoming the next big team in Big 12 is the Wildcats. Do not take Kansas State lightly. They have a solid defensive game and their offense with their QB Avery Johnson is amazing.

What will shine for Deion and Co. is the Buffs’ defensive line. We have said this before, and we will say it again: bringing in Robert Livingstone was probably the best decision Deion Sanders could’ve made. In a game against a run-heavy offense (the Knights), the defensive line left zero room for UCF QB KJ Jefferson.
The entire game was the pinnacle performance of Coach Prime and Co. Now, with Shilo Sanders joining the starters, Deion Sanders will have an even stronger defensive presence on the turf. We just gotta wait and watch how it all pans out for Coach Prime.
