Can Ryan Day's Buckeyes finally silence the Wolverines, or will Michigan surprise everyone again?

Yes, the much-awaited Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Michigan Wolverines week is finally here! The Wolverines and the Buckeyes will be facing off against each other for the fourth consecutive year. However, this season is a bit different as Ryan Day’s Ohio State remains ranked No.2 while Sherrone Moore’s boys did not have the privilege to get the rankings limelight. On the other hand, the Buckeyes already got their much-needed boost after handing the Indiana Hoosiers their first loss this season. Plus, Day has one privilege this season that Moore does not have, making them all the way more hyped up to seek payback.

Do you know that this is the first time in seven years that a ranked Buckeyes team will be facing off against an unranked Wolverines army? Now Day has got way more motivated to beat Moore’s boys since that’s all they have to do to clinch a spot in its first Big Ten championship game since 2020. Even though the Wolverines came out stronger in the rivalry over the last three meetings, Moore does not look to have any control over the victory, it seems. That’s what the national college football writer, RJ Young, highlighted on The Number One College Football Show. The FOX Sports analyst advised Moore to live in the moment since the happy times after flipping Bryce Underwood would soon take a backseat. “Michigan, savor it, enjoy it, love it cause I don’t see you getting no win against this Buckeye team.”

He then elaborated on his comment. Young believes that Day is going to follow a ‘no mercy’ policy for Moore’s boys and is likely to strip them off, “Not only are they more talented than you, they are out for blood…not out for blood, your blood. They want your blood. They want your Wolverine bodies to show to their fan base.” Well, it looks like Day’s weapon has already armed himself up for the big day.

How the burning desire to beat Michigan runs high in Ryan Day’s squad

Already Ohio State QB Will Howard is boasting his chest with pride after the Buckeyes defeated “Google me” man Curt Cignetti’s Indiana 38-15. But Day’s signal-caller is not ready to be carried away with the celebration as they are all set to finish up their regular season topping up with a home matchup against their arch-rival Wolverines. So there is no one who wants a win over Moore’s army as desperately as Howard. And here’s what he had to say.

“I want this for (the veterans) so bad…I feel it, and I am a part of it now, and I want this for me, too, but I want this for those guys. I want it for Coach Day — to shut up the haters,” the QB dished out the bold claim. So the mission for the fans to say the sweet words ‘This is The Ohio State Buckeyes’ now runs through Howard’s veins. So much so that it’s hard for him to hold his nerves.

“I can’t wait, man. I can’t wait. I’m like I said, I’m stoked. I’m fired up…I feel it, man. I can just feel it,” said Will Howard. Sadly, Michigan HC Sherrone Moore is not lucky to have such a high-spirited signal caller this season. Perhaps he’ll have to bide his time until next season, allowing Ryan Day and his squad their moment in the sun.
