Can Kirby Smart rally Georgia, or is Tennessee set to deliver another crushing blow?

What a heartbreaking loss it was for Kirby Smart and Georgia! They faced their second defeat of the season after their 28-10 loss to underdog Ole Miss last Saturday. Their fall to grace marked their second conference loss as their playoff odds hang by the next game’s outcome. But according to experts, the Bulldogs could be en route to their next November heartbreak.

As Georgia looks to rebound from their Ole Miss defeat, No. 7 Tennessee is going to give them a hard time. As Andy Staples said in a new YouTube episode on On3 on November 11, “I had Georgia as the first team out. Basically saying I think Tennessee is gonna beat them. I don’t know that Tennessee is gonna beat them. I realize Vegas disagrees with me. That’s a double digit spread right now but it was the cleanest way to do this.”

According to Staples, Tennessee is a favorite to contend for the SEC championship title if they win against Georgia. He said, “If Tennessee beats Georgia, Tennessee controls its own destiny for the SEC championship game and basically Tennessee, assuming they beat Vanderbilt, which is a big assumption, would play the winner of Texas-Texas A&M for the SEC Championship.”

Right now, Tennessee boasts one of the best records in the SEC with just one lone loss against conference opponent Arkansas in Week 6. We got to understand that the Volunteers are charged this season, beating powerhouses like Ohio State and Alabama along the way. Can they deliver another sore upset to Kirby Smart’s shattered team? According to another prediction, Georgia still holds the upper edge.

Bizarre Georgia vs Tennessee prediction

What’s your perspective on:

Can Kirby Smart rally Georgia, or is Tennessee set to deliver another crushing blow?

Have an interesting take?

Tennessee enters the game at Sanford Stadium in Athens as a 9.5-point underdog against the Bulldogs. While that alone might seem more appropriate, what’s bugging the CFB world is that Vegas just made a strange prediction. Consider this. Kirby Smart’s team opened as a 10.5-point favorite over the Vols and dropped to 8.5 points after the loss to Ole Miss, while Tennessee won against Mississippi State in their last game.

One would believe that the Bulldogs’ points would decrease ahead of the Week 12 SEC matchup. Instead, 9.5 points? According to Vegas’ prediction, Georgia takes the edge with a total of 49 points and a spread of 9.5 points with a potential final scoreboard of 29-10. But the real result will surface when the two SEC powerhouses lock in a battle for their CFP pursuit. Who do you think has a better position to win the upcoming battle?
