Is Colin Cowherd right about Texas being overrated, or are they the real deal this season?

Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns have made quite the entrance into week 11 with an impressive victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Not only have they been maintaining a strong performance throughout the season, but they have also climbed to the prestigious no.5 spot in the college football playoffs rankings. However, it seems that media personality Colin Cowherd has raised concerns about the team’s approach, suggesting that they may be flying under the radar and advancing through the game without facing much scrutiny or pressure.

Today, on a recent episode of The Herd with Colin Cowherd show, Colin highlighted the lesser-known fact about Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorns, saying, “Nobody’s talking about Texas. They got blown out, everybody sold their stock, and here’s little old Texas quietly with no pressure. They’re overrated; they got crushed. Interesting. I think Texas is very interesting, by the way.” Well, that could be a surprising point. Texas is currently standing on a 7-1 streak in the season, and the only game they lost was against the Georgia Bulldogs, which were mainly surrounded around QB Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, making it the sole reason for their loss. But it looks like there is no pressure on them for their next game.

Texas Longhorns have always made it to the headlines because of their remarkable gameplay in the season and have gotten a lot of applause for their win against teams like MS State or Michigan, but we all know there is a condition in the game. Even in the podcast, Colin mentioned it, saying, “Anytime Texas is good, they get way too much attention.” To this, Joel Klatt added, saying, Right now, they’re not getting any.” More or less, it’s better for them to stay hidden, with less attention drawn to them. This will allow them to prepare for their next game.

Further in the show, Colin Cowherd also mentioned what he thinks about the Longhorns, saying, “I think this team is still the most talented team in the country.” Well, I don’t know about the best, but their defense is surely exceptional, as Texas is currently on the No. 1 spot in the nation in their total defense with 241 yards allowed per game. However, there are still some areas the team needs to focus on before Saturday’s game against the Florida Gators.

Is Colin Cowherd right about Texas being overrated, or are they the real deal this season?

Have an interesting take?

Well, even if the Texas Longhorns were considered overrated after their loss against the Georgia Bulldogs, their head coach Steve Sarkisian knows exactly what went wrong in that game. Moving ahead on the road, the Longhorns are going to face the Florida Gators. Sarkisian doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake they did in their faceoff with the Bulldogs. During their game, Texas gave up 326 yards and 21 points against them with 3 costly turnovers, which showcased their poor offense in the game.

Moreover, the main problem was their struggle in running the football throughout the game. Even Steve Sarkisian feels the same about the team, as he mentioned that sometimes the players get so eager to make a play that they end up losing them. That’s a straight fact. Summing up the whole notion, Sarkisian revealed their mantra for this week’s game, saying, “The one thing that we’ve been stressing this week is to move the ball forward.” Well, that’s a smart strategy because it’s better to ignore any negative plays in such a crucial game. Now let’s see if the team successfully converts Steve Sarkisian’s words into action or not!
