Pilar Sanders drops everything for Shedeur—Is there anything more powerful than a mother's love in sports?

Sometimes you just gotta set the differences aside. We all know that Pilar Sanders and Deion Sanders have had a rough time over the last few years. With constant jabs thrown at each other, mostly regarding their daughter Shelomi Sanders and her choice to leave Buffs, most of us had thought that Pilar and Deion weren’t having proper family time. Boy, oh boy, people were wrong cause Pilar Sanders was there supporting her son Shedeur Sanders when the Buffs hit the turf during the season opener against NDSU. While the Buffs did manage to steal a win against the Bisons, all thanks to Shedeur and Travis Hunter, we got some different updates today regarding why Pilar decided to be there for her son.

On September 2nd, Pilar posted on her YouTube channel regarding Shedeur’s college season. She finally reveals what made her ditch her plans to come and watch her son. “So this morning that was not planned,” Pilar noted. She had quite a different plan for the entire day. She had thought she’d head over to Shedeur’s house after the game and wait for her son there and relax. Things switched up after Shedeur’s request. “And I talked to Shedeur, and he has some of his friends, you know, doing some things for him and he wants popcorn. Well, that’s my specialty. So of course, mommy drops everything,” Pilar mentioned. Shedeur loves the natural popcorn that Pilar makes using coconut oil and organic ingredients, and how could Pilar refuse to make her son some? Also, it would be an understatement if we say that Pilar is a beacon of support for her kids. A few weeks back, when Shedeur had a collab with Nike, she even congratulated him under the comment section of his Instagram post. “YES SON!!!” she had written.

A mother’s prayer always pays off cause we saw Shedeur kill it against NDSU. The kid had full control of the offense and managed to pull in more than 400 passing yards. He ended the run with 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. One of the most beautiful times was when, despite being surrounded by defenders, he managed to sneak in a 69-yard pass to Jimmy Horn Jr. And for all of this, you gotta thank Deion Sanders cause that man made sure Shedeur did not make the same mistakes he did last season. However, while Pilar and Coach Prime continue to support their kid. On the turf, Shedeur needs the backing of his O-line and he ain’t getting that.

Will the offensive line get on Shedeur Sanders’ level?

On September 3rd, Matt McChesney brought up a solid point regarding the offensive line of the Buffs on his show Zero 2 Sixty. “When do you think the rest of the offense catches up and matches those?” Matt had questioned. The CU alums main argument was that Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, or Jimmy Horn play on a whole different level and somehow even after Deion revamped the O-line, the new kids failed to reach that level.

While star players like Jordan Seaton or Tyler Brown showed amazing progress on the field, the rest of the linemen were pretty nonexistent. We even saw how easily Cam Miller (QB for the Bisons) managed to sneak in multiple rushes and the O-line failed to do anything. This is one thing that will be plaguing Deion and his boys as the team inches closer to the Nebraska game. Let’s hope Coach Prime figures something out.
