31-24 with just two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter for the Colorado Buffaloes to a 38-31 win over the Baylor Bears in overtime—is what sums up Saturday’s clash at the Folsom Field. As the Bears missed a 45-yard field goal to two possessions with 2:19 remaining on the clock, the Buffaloes got a lease of life that Shedeur made perfect use of. The match’s ending moments were nothing short of a perfectly shot movie with Shedeur’s mom Pilar angrily decrying the officials. But before we get to that…

On the final play of regulation, the QB completed a Hail Mary touchdown pass to LaJohntay Wester, to level the scores, sending them into overtime. Baylor chose defense with their opponent scoring first when Micah Welch ran the ball in from a yard out. As Baylor looked for an opportunity for payback heading for a goal, Buffs’ Travis Hunter executed a perfect fumble by the Baylor’s running back Dominic Richardson at the goal line. “Shedeur told me to go out there and get the ball. So I told him: ‘I got you,’ and I kept my word. I knew I had to tackle. I knew they were coming at me. They don’t think I could tackle, so I had to show them,” Coach Prime’s “fourth son” and the Buffs’ cornerback Travis Hunter said.

Notably, Colorado’s Hail Mary win came just three days before the 30th Anniversary of the “Miracle at Michigan” when the Buffs’ beat the Michigan Wolverines after QB Kordell Stewart’s 64-yard Hail Mary pass to WR Michael Westbrook. In fact, the 1994 game that was dubbed as “one of the two wildest finishes in Michigan football history” was playing on the big screen just moments before Shedeur’s own Hail Mary pass. However, as Saturday’s game concluded and fans rushed to the field in jubilation, there was a moment when everybody thought the win wouldn’t materialize.

With the last play under review, tensions soared with Pilar also taking to X to lash out, “They don’t wanna see us live. They don’t wanna see us ball! Horrible call definitely a catch!!!”

Later, as the catch was confirmed, the 49-year-old again took to the social media platform to congratulate the team, but not without taking a jab at the “MISDIAGNOSED CALLS”. “Woooooohooooo!!!! EVEN WITH ALL THE IN YOUR FACE SOMEHOW MISDIAGNOSED CALLS,…….. ehhhemmmmm WE PREVAIL!! #Grateful”, she wrote.

Mirroring Pilar’s emotions were also fans as they took their celebrations up a notch, even forcing the team’s coach Prime Time to apologize.

Deion Sanders says he didn’t like what happened

Picture this: Travis Hunter crawling on his hands and knees. Fans surround the field rejoicing the win. Some excited folks tearing down a goal post before the win is even officially confirmed. As the team came out  all guns blazing making the most of their win, Deion Sanders was left rather agitated as he missed out on an important tradition…

Mentioning how he didn’t even get tome to shake Baylor coach Dave Aranda’s hand, the 57-year-old revealed, “I want to apologize to the opposition, the way we stormed the field.” However, he also made a cheeky little joke about the celebrations, saying, “I don’t like what transpired at the end of the game, but I love what transpired at the end of the game. We have a fan base that’s phenomenal.”

Calling the win great, Coach Prime also appreciated the “young boys” for their resilience and never-say-die attitude. His counterpart, on the other hand, lamented the “heart-wrenching loss”.

“Haven’t really been a part of something like that, especially down to the last play of overtime. … Very hard to take. The team is very is gutted right now, and so frustrated. We’re probably going to be hurting all the way back to Waco,” the coach further said. And true to this, this is a game he’ll remember for a long time. Wouldn’t you?
