Is Pilar Sanders justified in her fierce defense of Shedeur, or is it overprotectiveness?

Till now, only Dad Deion Sanders came off as being overprotective about son Shedeur Sanders. Surprisingly, Coach Prime is not the only one who is always on guard. It’s time for his ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, to share the tag with him. Shedeur’s mother, Pilar, got truly upset at her son’s condition while watching the live telecast of the Colorado vs Cincinnati face-off. She just needed a platform to vent out her anger and took to X dishing out a brutal take at Scott Satterfield’s boys. But why does Pilar get so overprotective about the QB? Maybe it’s the trauma of being an athlete’s mom left by Shilo’s injury.

Whenever there seems to be a strong player in the rising, injure them. Well, that has been the trend. Yesterday, during the UNLV Rebels vs Boise State Broncos, a similar claim was brought up for Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty falling prey to UNLV’s sly tactics. On Saturday, it was time for Pilar’s son to bear the blows. The concerned mother lashed out at the Bearcats on X, “Real Athletes overstand average sportsmanship! Actually Trying to hurt other players while playing the game demonstrates low football IQ u need to get the 🥾17!” But what’s the hoopla all about?

Things were going pretty well, Shedeur just came up with a historical record for throwing 20 TDs this season. But maybe the Bearcats had some other plans. With only nine minutes left for the third quarter to get over, the Buffs QB escaped up the middle for a four-yard gain and was running with the pigskin to Cincinnati’s seven-yard line. So they had to stop Shedeur by hook or by crook. But hardly did the Colorado fans expect the Bearcats to stoop so low.

While tackling Pilar’s son, the rival LB Brian Simms III grabbed the QB by his left leg and continued to roll with it on the ground. And what was the end result? Shedeur was seen limping to the sideline. So Pilar’s enraged reaction clearly called out the No.17 jersey that is worn by Simms III to get the boot (read: penalty). Maybe she was right when she ranted about how difficult is it for moms whose children are into sports.

Pilar Sanders on the emotional toll of athlete moms

Back in September, Pilar’s other son Shilo had to get his broken forearm operated. The news came to her all of a sudden when she was in Alabama for her daughter Shelomi, who is now committed to the Alabama A&M women’s basketball team. As she dropped in with some updates on Shilo’s injury, Deion’s ex-wife stated, “Shilo broke his forearm, life of a footb – -l mom. It’s not easy.” That’s how uncertain things are. Later she went to live while driving to further pinpoint the risks that often come with playing the sport.

“The life of a football mom um it’s not easy… if who are non-athletic don’t realize you deal with are the possibilities and actual injuries that happen…putting yourself in a position where you’re playing a contact sport, there’s always a risk of something and this is the other thing that that moms deal with all the time,” Pilar raised the concern.

While Shilo has slowly recovered and is now playing, it’s time for Pilar to be concerned about Shedeur. Seeing the QB leave the gridiron to get treatment on his left hip does not look quite promising, to be very honest. The ESPN sideline reporter relayed, “Looks like they’re treating his left hip. Like a left hip flexor injury type injury.” Maybe we will have to hold our patience for a bit longer.
