For the first time in over 25 years, Colorado State is hosting the Rocky Mountain Showdown! The Buffaloes and the Rams will face off this Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MT, and it’s set to be a big one. After their disappointing 28-10 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Buffaloes are all set for a comeback. History is on their side, as they’ve had the upper hand against the Rams for years. Even last season, they triumphed 43-35 in a thrilling double-overtime match.
Today’s game has brought out a full house, with over 40,000 fans packing the stands, making it the largest home attendance in Ram country ever. Among the excited crowd is Coach Prime’s entire family, there to support him. But it was his grandson who stole the spotlight.
On September 15, 2024, Coach Prime’s daughter, Deiondra Sanders, shared an adorable Instagram story showing her little boy in a Colorado jersey with the caption, “Let’s go Buffs.” Dressed in a cute black and white striped onesie and matching socks with the Buffs logo, Baby Snow was the ultimate game-day fashionista.

Coach Prime welcomed his first grandchild, Baby Que, on August 9, while celebrating his 57th birthday. On August 23, Deiondra’s husband, Jacquees, revealed their son’s name in style on Instagram, posting several photos with the caption, “Snow Jacquees Sanders-Broadnax 🙏🏾🩵👑❄️🌨️☃️.” Wondering why they chose ‘Snow’ for a summer baby? The name is a heartfelt tribute to Jacquees’ grandmother, Ms. Dasie Snow, while ‘Sanders’ honors Coach Prime’s family legacy.
It seemed like most of the Sanders family was at the Rams’ home game to support their family. Meanwhile, Coach Prime’s ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, was cheering on her quarterback son online. And let’s just say, that every cheer was totally worth it!

In the rival Rocky Mountain Showdown, the Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Colorado State Rams 28–9. However, Colorado State was able to dictate the game’s pace in the first quarter, but their offense moved the ball into scoring position. Well, they were forced to settle for a field goal by their defense, which forced punts. In the second quarter, Colorado’s passing attack took off as they regained momentum.
Then Travis Hunter dominated the game and helped the Buffs go into the fourth quarter up by 21 points. Travis Hunter’s second touchdown of the game early in the quarter signaled the start of the game’s out-of-control phase for the Rams. And the two-way star finally had 13 catches for 100 yards. Praising his remarkable performance, Coach Prime said, “We got him back in there to make sure he got those 100 yards“. Now, Colorado has a lot to look forward to for the remainder of the season after improving to 2-1.
