For the Colorado Buffaloes, given the current mess, maintaining calm is no less than rocket science. But their HC Deion Sanders is in no way going to compromise with their image. With this, he has set out a blueprint for the players and prevented them from going into full meltdown mode with a “we don’t do what they do” reminder. But why did all of a sudden Coach Prime have to hold the reins?
Deion had kept things low-key until their in-state rivals, Colorado State Rams’ WR and QB chose drama ahead of their big face-off on September 14. As Coach Prime desperately tries to keep his players from plotting a revenge tour, it didn’t take long for his son Deion Sanders Jr. to dial up the drama after Shedeur Sanders fell prey to Nebraska’s troll.
Emotionally the Buffs are not in a good state. To protect them from further emotional turmoil, Deion had come up with a new plan. He has urged his players to commit themselves to a drama-free zone. On September 14, the Well Off Media page captured a clip of Coach Prime’s off-court mentoring session. This time social media trolls are a strict NO-NO as Deion reminded, “We’re not going to pull out no phones and do nothing stupid and post something stupid regarding the opposing team.”

The Buffaloes players do not disrespect their rivals- that’s the motto. As Coach Prime made it very clear, “We don’t do what they do. We going to be better than that.” But what got Deion so pumped about playing the class’ self-appointed moral coach?
It was Colorado State WR and QB duo, Tory Horton and Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi who chose to sprinkle some salt on the Buffs’ fresh wounds. Taking reference from last year’s Buffaloes vs. Rams game, the QB came up with an open challenge, “They came out with that attitude and thought it was going to be a cakewalk…I think it goes to show the hype…At the end of the day, you have to line up 11 guys against our 11 guys and we’ll find out who wants it more. We’ll see how far Instagram followers gets them.”

On the other hand, Horton did not mince his words and came up with a “better watch out” attitude when he claimed, “We owe them one. That’s been sittin’ on everybody’s minds since we came back from break. We owe them.” The rivals have always been harsh with Deion’s program.

By now, we know how it took only one game for Shedeur’s “hero” status to flip. From the very beginning, he had been mobbed by Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola and his teammates. While the Buffs thought that their QB getting five sacks and the 28-10 soul-crushing defeat was all that they had to bear, Matt Rhule’s crew ensured to further add on to Deion’s existing woes.

After their heroic feat at the Memoria Stadium on September 7, the Cornhuskers wasted no time and straightaway went to their locker room. While fans expected some victory dance and loud cheer, they pulled a unique card. Yes, they went with post-game glory songs, but it rather belonged to Shedeur. Not just the Perfect Timing rap, they came up with a spicy garnish for Buffs’ sorrow by imitating the QB’s watch-flex move while celebrating with the rap.
Like Deion Sanders now offers the players a crash course of how not to become a vengeful villain, Deion Sanders Jr. chose not to walk on his father’s path of no-slap strategy. Instead, Bucky retweeted the video with the caption, “Y’all deserve it. Turn up Nebraska. We would do the exact same thing to y’all.” The players will now have to choose between catching Prime Time’s chillaxed vibes or being influenced by Jr.’s drama-packed deal.
