November 29, 2024. The day carried a special significance for Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sander because it was his senior day. So at the Folsom Field, he wanted to celebrate that with both his parents, Deion Sanders and his former wife Pilar, who is the mother of Shedeur, Shilo, and Shelomi. So much so that Shedeur found Pilar and convinced her to participate in the event, even though Deion Sanders was there. But not so easy was the task.

“My brother [Shedeur] just got my mom from the stands cause of the senior day, and we didn’t know we had to walk. They’re not gonna. That’s like World War III trying to get them to walk together,” Shilo had revealed. He did not exaggerate, though. Because Deion and Pilar actually didn’t.

Shedeur and Shilo walked with Deion across the field during their celebration, and met their mother on the other side, according to a video posted later. Deion patted his sons on the back when they got close to Pilar, then moved away quickly. Pilar then hugged her boys in the middle of the field as they celebrated and posed for photos. It seems that even after separating way back in 2013, the bitterness between the two has not yet died down. And looks like, Shedeur has taken his learnings from the entire saga, which he had to face as an 11-year-old.

Coach Prime’s marriage with Pilar ended on the grounds of dispute and toxicity. But for the sake of their children, they have always tried to maintain a decent relationship. But while talking to Shilo Sanders on his marriage, Shedeur says, “I wouldn’t want to put anybody, you know, kids or anything, through divorces, through dysfunction, through anything, because it’s tough on kids.” Sweetly calling out Coach Prime, saying, “Dad.” Indeed, Deion and Pilar’s divorce was nowhere close to amicable.

Deion and Pilar got married in 1999. At the time, she was a model, and he was an NFL star at the height of his fame as a player. The couple filed for divorce in 2013. Sanders won the custody of all three of the couple’s children initially, and Pilar was awarded visitation rights. Still, there were custody battles later. Prior to the divorce being finalized, Pilar alleged a prenuptial agreement between them was forged in 2012. She wanted more money in alimony and child support payments from the Pro Football Hall of Famer.

“It’s greed,” Deion had said in court at the time. “You signed the contract. We had a prenuptial, and now you don’t like the terms of it because of the realization that it’s over, your lifestyle will no longer be the same way. It’s greed.” Pilar later won custody of two of their youngest children, Shedeur and Shelomi, in 2017. Still, Deion had a heavy presence in Shedeur’s life throughout his college career as his head coach at both Jackson State and Colorado.

However, despite all these, the way Shedeur joked about it occasionally, shows that somehow everyone among them is content with how life is turning out to be. This is not the first time Shedeur Sanders has thrown some funny jabs at Coach Prime’s love life, though. It’s almost like he can’t help himself tossing shade and jokes, but in the end, it always circles back to bite them.

Is Shedeur Sanders' humor a shield against the pressure of living up to Coach Prime's legacy?

Have an interesting take?

Well, want a sneak peek into Thanksgiving at the Shedeur Sanders’ household? As Shedeur Sanders dropped some serious truth bombs on his 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders last year. So when describing the before and after phase of their parents’ divorce, in phase one he says, “Before we were all one big happy family. Everything was fun. We had the turkeys; we had everything.”

That’s some classic family vibe, right? But then comes the sad phase two, where Shedeur got real about how the rift affected Thanksgiving, saying, “Now, after the divorce, I got to make sure I don’t eat too much at Dad’s house sometimes and don’t eat too much at Mom’s house. So I got to make sure I balance out my stomach.”

That’s just Shedeur Sanders’ way of talking about this situation with a wide smile and taking shots at his loving dad, Deion Sanders. But let’s not forget marriage is not the next big thing happening in Shedeur’s life; it’s the NFL draft. Let’s see what’s new cooking in the alleged first-round pick’s NFL draft scene.

What’s brewing for Shedeur Sanders in NFL Draft

We all know how badly Coach Prime wants Shedeur to be a first-round pick in the NFL, but Shedeur Sanders’ NFL future might just be more dramatic than the Buffs’ entire 9-4 season. Filled with ups and downs. As everyone’s buzzing about him being a top pick, what if the weight of those expectations starts messing with his vibe?

So here’s the interesting part: the Titans, Browns, and Pats were all competing for that coveted No. 1 pick. Surprisingly, the Titans fell short, losing 14-23 to the Texans. However, the Pats had a different plan. Instead of intentionally losing against the Bills, they managed to secure a 23-16 victory. And guess what? That unexpected win ended up costing them the top spot in the draft, leaving them at No. 4. Well, well, well… the draft just got spicy! So much for Coach Prime and Shedeur’s dream of reuniting under the Vegas lights.

The Raiders fumbled their way out of the top five and now sit cozy at No. 6. Classic Raiders, huh? Leave it to them to make an already tough situation even tougher. But hey, Shedeur? Cool as ever, he says, “What’s meant to happen is going to happen. You know, I don’t feel like God would ever put me in a place I am not supposed to go. We made it everywhere; we have gone and been successful. I’m not paying attention to people… They’re going to try to degrade you, and they’re going to try to paint a different picture of you—all types of stuff. But anyways, I’m happy with the order, and whatever happens, happens. See, it’s not just about the Raiders but also about the Giants getting out of sight. Remember Shedeur’s Bowl game cleats? All for nothing!

Clearly, the Raiders won’t be Shedeur Sanders’ destination anymore, not only because they are lower down the list but also because their head coach, Antonio Pierce, is not their head coach anymore. Now let’s see if the Tennessee Titans are going to land Buffs’ star quarterback or if there’s something interesting adding up to the story.
