Well, the Alabama Crimson Tide did see some dark times for a change. After all, they had to bid farewell to their favorite HC, GOAT Nick Saban. And poor Crimson Tide! Under their new HC Kalen DeBoer, they could not even make it to the College Football Playoffs. Finally, the time has come to find sources to reenergize themselves. As the 2025 NFL Draft draws near, Alabama fans might be waiting with bated breath to see their favorite players spread their wings and fly high in the NFL.
The one player who had all eyes on him was none other than the Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. However, right now it’s a joy-tinged with sadness kind of situation for the player. All this surrounds Milroe’s dream NFL stop. And guess who rained on his parade? It’s none other than the Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter.

Milroe signed with Alabama in 2021 as a four-star prospect out of Katy, Texas’ Tompkins High School. So, he has been recruited by Saban. In that way, can we really doubt Milroe’s athletic abilities? Definitely not. However, Milroe goes to the backseat when it comes to landing early in the 2025 NFL Draft. Thanks to Deion Sanders’ son and the Buffs QB Shedeur Sanders who is considered a guaranteed top-five pick. However, that did not stop Milroe from dreaming big. After Alabama’s impressive Week 5 win against Georgia, many considered Milroe a top-five pick. He came off as an indomitable spirit showing vast signs of improvement in the passing game. But in the later half of the season, the QB lost his charm. But even then the analyst had some good words about Milroe.
On the Bama Tailgate podcast, host and Alabama alum Mick Gillispie said that there is nothing much for Milroe to worry about his NFL destination. As he stated, “The one thing that we can sell to these recruits is we have had a pipeline of quarterbacks that have gone on to the NFL.” Well, the list is pretty long-Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, Bryce Young among others. So, no matter how Milroe ended the season on a low note, he carries with him the Alabama legacy.

The host had no doubts about the QB landing it big in the NFL, “As many weaknesses we saw at the end of the season with Jalen Milroe, he’s going to be the same thing. He’s end up being a first or second-round pick.” But uh-huh! It’s not going to be this smooth for him. After all, Hunter will come in between Milroe and his NFL dream team.
Travis Hunter’s magnetic pull will cost Jalen Milroe hard
Well, Cleveland’s quarterback room is believed to be thinned out by the time the 2025 training camp comes around. After all, they had a tough time with their quarterback Deshaun Watson. From abuse allegations to a long injury history, Brown’s QB situation has been a mess. The only good thing is that Tommy Rees has taken the reins as offensive coordinator. And we know what that means. Rees might look to be reunited with one of his former pupils.

Maybe that’s why Milroe might have wanted to land in Cleveland. That’s when he thought of teasing his fans. The Crimson Tide quarterback shared a picture of the Crimson Tide’s plane in Cleveland, Ohio on IG. However, within a few moments, he deleted the story. Now what are the chances of the Milroe x Browns collab? NFL legend-turned-analyst Chad Johnson broke his silence on the chances of Cleveland landing him as the No.2 overall pick.
“No sir and that’s no disrespect to him…I can see ear early second I can see that now now that I can see but passing up on Travis Hunter..no,” stated the Nightcap co-host. Looks like the Browns won’t be able to fight the urge to land the Buffs’ dual threat. After all, he is believed to bring a Jim Brown-type impact on the franchise. Brown was the one Cleveland player who led the league in rushing yardage every year between 1957 and 1965, except 1962. Perhaps this is Jalen Milroe’s cue to set his sights on a different NFL jersey.
