Alteration in Stanford’s travel plan! Yes, this Thursday Stanford’s route was scheduled before their football matchup with Clemson. However, due to Hurricane Helene, their flight got canceled after several alterations. Although it was rescheduled for Friday, the team will arrive at Memorial Stadium at about 5:48 p.m., or slightly over a day before kickoff against Clemson Tigers at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. Now the question remains: will the weather cooperate on their game day?
According to the weather forecast, Helene is expected to make landfall on Thursday night on the northwest coast. It will mainly impact a large portion of the southeastern United States. On top of this, according to a university news release, Clemson’s main campus is predicted to see 8 to 10 inches of rain and wind gusts of 35 to 50 mph due to the storm on Thursday night. So, how much of an impact does the Clemson vs. Stanford matchup have?
As of now, there are ‘no changes‘ seen in Saturday’s football operation in terms of time, and the report of The State’s Chapel Fowler, stated, “A Tigers athletic department spokesman told The State on Thursday that while university officials are actively monitoring the weather and have contingency plans in place, there are no major changes expected as of now for Saturday night’s game.” It reflects the weather can be rainy or windy, but maybe the kickoff will take place in time.

The current forecast of Weather.com also states the same about the weather of Clemson vs. Stanford game day, “Cloudy, with occasional showers late at night. Low 63F. Winds are light and variable. Chance of rain 40%.” Therefore, the game wouldn’t be affected much, albeit the final confirmation has not been revealed yet. Till then, let’s take a glimpse at some predictions regarding the matchup between Clemson and Stanford.
Some predictions on Clemson Tigers vs. Stanford Cardinal
With the exception of a little adjustment to Clemson’s Wednesday practice schedule, Tigers football coach Dabo Swinney stated on Wednesday night that the weather hadn’t changed “anything” for his squad as of yet. The team has to put their heart and soul into snatching the victory from their toughest opponent. However, Clemson is fully aware of the formidable offensive line that they possess, which helped them to victories of 125 points against N.C. State and Appalachian State.
On the other hand, Stanford will showcase their renowned defense to thwart Cade Klubnik’s incredible speed—a veritable scoring machine, in their second road game of the year. So it will be a nail-biting matchup as both teams have their strong offense and defense. No doubt!
