Did Shedeur Sanders' Instagram clapback show confidence or just immaturity? What's your take on this drama?

Shedeur Sanders making headlines is just part of the daily routine, thanks to his unapologetic attitude. Whether it’s his “Rolex flex” celebratory movement or his bold statement, “When you talk about my pops, you’re talking about me,” the spotlight is always on him. But this time, after the Colorado Buffaloes’ game against Colorado State, Shedeur stirred up a lot of buzz in the college football world when he clapped back at Rams’ QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, who tried to mock his social media fame.

Before Saturday’s game between these two teams, CSU’s Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi along with Tory Horton cracked a joke on Shedeur Sanders’ social media followers, saying, “ line up 11 guys against our 11 guys. And we’ll find out who wants it more. We’ll see how far Instagram followers get. He took a jab at Shedeur’s fan following and continuous social media presence. According to him, a player needs to be known for his play and not come from an influential background.

Meanwhile, WR Tory Horton also joined by saying that “because of who Deion Sanders is, beyond Sanders ain’t playing. It’s those players playing. So those players better back up.” Well, they both really get on Shedeur’s nerves. Since he joined CFB and shifted to Colorado, he’s been called out as a product of nepotism, and CSU players pointed out the same allegations in their conversation.

Fast forward to today’s game, Sanders led the Buffs to a dominant 28-9 victory over Colorado State and threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns. After winning the game and holding the victory cup in his hand, Shedeur interacted with the media. When asked about how he was feeling, he said, “It’s better than Instagram followers!” and repeated it twice.

Well, Shedeur answered his opponents by winning the game, but it didn’t go well with social media trolls who targeted him through various posts.

Have an interesting take?

One ‘X’ user referred to Colorado and Shedeur Sanders’ last game blunders by writing, “How come he didn’t leave the field two minutes early this time? Well, he got a point, right? Even Coach Prime pointed out Shedeur’s disastrous performance in the last game against Nebraska Cornhuskers and it was so unprofessional of him to leave the field before the final two minutes. Added to that, another user wrote, “Lmao but then they cry when they get clowned” followed by laughing emojis. The account holder is definitely not a fan of the Buffs.

One user wrote, “This like Lebron James being happy with the in-season championship. I mean really.” And honestly, there’s some truth to that! Shedeur, the nation’s top QB, seemed pretty pleased after winning what was a fairly easy game. It wasn’t the kind of win you’d expect him to be satisfied with. Another user chimed in, “Bottom 4 teams in the conference,” taking a jab at Colorado’s current standing in college football. Finally, someone commented, “He hired PR,” likely in response to Shedeur’s sudden surge in fame and all the buzz around the controversies during the games. Besides that, good or bad, it’s better to stay in the news, agree?
