With the national title dream out of reach, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are just chilling with the idea of being first-round picks. But hey, life’s not as easy as snagging NIL deals, right? Oh, hold on a moment— they’re losing that race as well, as Arch Manning has already started making money before even settling into his dorm. And now, with a new threat shaking up their position in the draft, it’s beginning to feel reminiscent of The Hunger Games—may luck be on their side.

Now we all know how bad Shedeur Sanders was against the Cougars in their bowl game, but even then he is still the No. 1 pick following Cam Ward, who is the next one on the first-round pick list. But it looks like insider Bruce Feldman thinks there’s another worthy contender for this star-studded list, as he says, “Penn State’s quarterback, he’s 6’5″, he’s 240. Drew Allar has a big arm; he’s a decent athlete; he’s a fast processor, which obviously people in the NFL are very intrigued by if he plays really well.”

See, it’s evident that Drew Allar still has two games if Penn State wins against Notre Dame to prove what he is capable of. Plus, we also can’t deny the fact that big arms in the NFL mean quarterbacks can sling it deep, opening up the offense with explosive plays. Now that’s something where he could stand out: Shedeur and Cam, as both these guys are 6.2. But winning against Notre Dame’s No. 2 scoring defense and No. 4 scoring offense is no walk in the park.

Even Freeman thinks that Drew Allar can only outshine Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward and be the first pick in the draft, as he says, “People do not love this quarterback class. Does that give him pause? Now he’s got to play well, you know, this week against a good defense, but it’s a big stage. It wouldn’t shock me if there was a push to get him.” Sure, it’s tough out there, but Allar’s stats are basically screaming excellence. A casual 68% completion rate, 3,021 yards, and 21 TDs. Moreover, Drew has been consistent around an offense that’s peaking at the right time.

One thing is pretty clear: these playoff games can make or break you. Remember Bama’s Jalen Milroe, who couldn’t even get the Tide to the playoffs? And then there’s Georgia’s Carson Beck, whose inconsistencies are well known to all. Now, he has slipped to No. 5 after that 23-10 meltdown against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, which was quite a masterclass. So, let’s just hope Shedeur and Cam don’t have to get into that situation.

Tension rises for Shedeur and Cam with too many peas in the pod

See, the 2025 NFL Draft is just two months away, and with most games done, we’re finally getting a better look at who’s gonna be on top of the charts. Now quarterbacks like Shedeur Sanders from Colorado and Cam Ward from Miami are still ballin’ their way to the top as consensus first-round picks. But let’s not forget the playoff QBs, as they’re in a whole different chat, especially the ones in the 2025 Rose Bowl.

Now coming straight to the point, the Rose Bowl clash flipped the script for Ohio State and Oregon’s QBs. Until their clash, Dillon Gabriel rolled in undefeated, boasting 3,558 yards and 28 TDs, while Will Howard was still dragging the weight of Ohio State’s fourth straight loss to Michigan. But things took a U-turn, and Howard showed out, torching No. 1 Oregon in a wild 41-21 upset. Now, as a result, his NFL draft stock is soaring, with scout Colton Edwards hyping him as a top-3 QB prospect for 2025 on X. Talk about a better glow-up!

But wait, where’s Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel? Oh, right, he is off the list entirely. Surprising, right? Heisman contender getting out of the list that is not something Dillon thought of. Well, too bad it all came crashing down when the Ducks folded in their first big playoff game. If we see Gabriel’s 299 yards and two touchdowns, they are solid stats, but let’s be real: stats don’t carry a team through heartbreak, do they? Let’s see if Shedeur Sanders can hold onto that first position with all the draft shake-ups.
