They say there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. It now seems to be true for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Last season, the Buffs’ dream came to a halt leaving them with a 4-8 trauma. That’s the same Colorado who are now believed to be the Big 12 Title Contender. At least the college football analyst feels so.

But here comes a catch. Deion’s army has to be the best of their selves against the Kansas State. However, their massive victory against UCF would continue to boost their spirits as their greatest critic feels so.

Analyzing the contender landscape for Colorado

Six weeks have passed since the 2024 kickoff. By now the analyst and fans alike have the idea what’s the coming days going to look like. With the biggest question looming around Deion’s Buffaloes is whether they will be contenders or pretenders. Coming fresh off a not-so-good season, in the contenders list initially there have been three names, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Utah. Now that Deion’s army had back-to-back wins with 4-1 overall, they might as well slip into the contender list. That’s what CFB Analyst Brandon Marcello believes, “If they win, they are going to be a contender.”

But there’s definitely going to be a catch. Kansas State is their biggest roadblock. But Marcello does not scare the Buffs instead spreads some motivational juju, “That’s a winnable game.” But the Buffs no longer need outside motivation when they can draw inspiration from their own game against UCF where the analyst pointed out, “UCF is very one-dimensional. they blew them out on the road but slowed the run again which was impressive by the Colorado defense.” Meanwhile, if there’s a question if Deion’s squad can actually win the Big 12 in 2024, Paul Finebaum is ready to answer.

Paul Finebaum’s shift for Deion Sanders’ Buffs

What’s your perspective on:

Can Deion Sanders' Buffaloes really conquer the Big 12, or is it just a fleeting dream?

Have an interesting take?

While it might be difficult for CFB fans to digest Finebaum supporting the Buffs, in this case, the analyst has no other option than agreeing. It was the same Finebaum who stripped off the Buffs QB for being too confident about making it to the Super Bowl. Now look how the tables have turned! In an interview with SportsCenter, Finebaum has been all supportive of Deion’s program, “I am ‘Paul In’ and for the first time since Prime got there two years ago, I think this is a legitimate football team.”

Well, his choice has not been influenced by the hype. Instead, he clarified, “It’s about a football team that was the most impressive school to me of all yesterday…But this team went on the road to a tough place, a big underdog, and they dominated, and they did it effectively.” This means that Colorado’s big 48-21 win against UCF Knights cracked the tough nut that Finebaum is.
