The Georgia Bulldogs have two losses to their names. The Bulldogs weren’t at their best against Florida Gators, even in their epic 34-20 win in week 10, but the only pain in the neck was how Carson Beck moved through the entire game. Three interceptions in the early half triggered a social media trolling spree over Beck, and the coach had no fair answer against that. Ole Miss coach Lan Kiffin didn’t take the Carson Beck woes too seriously as he believed it was a pretty fixable issue that Smart and his team had. But at the end of the day, they ended up being the prolific gainer out of it, and rightfully so. Beck again had a turnover against the Rebels, racking up a humiliating individual record under the belt. That said, he’s not the only one in Georgia’s history to pull the same.
Beck took his 12th interception of the season with 7:22 to go, down 22-10. He was 18 of 27 for 163 yards and didn’t score a TD after the pick by safety John Saunders. The interception numbers could only remind the seasoned Georgia fans about another humbling name, Mike Bobe, the current offensive coordinator of the team who bears more than just the Ole Miss wound. When Brent Rollins asked David Pollack: ”Carson Beck is the second quarterback in Georgia football’s 132-year history to throw 12 interceptions in a six-game span. Can you name the other one?’‘ The veteran analyst answered Mike Bobo within a second.

Mike Bobo was on the hot seat for how awful the Bulldogs were on the offensive side of the ball. They could only reach up to 244 yards of offense while turning the ball over 3 times and giving away 5 sacks to the Rebel’s defense. You can’t really blame the fans if they demand Bobo to be fired as the championship hope continues to dwindle.
On the flip, Beck contributed with 455 total yards and 309 passing yards against Florida, but that made little to no sense as his costly blunder with the interception throw helped the Gators to be in the game for longer. It was still forgivable as the team managed to clinch a win whatsoever.

But against Ole Miss, it was a totally spoiled day for the Bulldogs, as they had already lost the game, trailing 16-7 at halftime. While the lackluster offense and shaky defense collectively failed to deliver, it was again Carson Beck that ended up being at fault the most for another disaster. On top of that, he added to his misery with an unexpected gesture on the field.

Carson Beck made a questionable act following the tragic loss
Beck was spotted on the sideline while discussing something with backup quarterback Jaden Rashada. Barstool Sports caught it in the frame and shared it on X to pump up the haters, with the caption ”Carson Beck is smiling!”. It was totally a fuel to the fire moment for the fans and veterans alike. It immediately triggered more and more hatred and sarcasm in his way. But as the athlete spilled the reason after the media scrum, it turned out to be just a sportsman-like chin-up and nothing else.

When Athens Banner Herald asked him about the controversial moment, Beck said, ”Oh, no, no, no. Woah. My teammate next to me is just trying to cheer me up because we’re down points. He’s like, ‘We’re still in this game.’ I’m like, ‘You’re right.’ I smiled back at him. I acknowledge that. So yeah, make sure that people understand.”
Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC) will finish SEC play with a matchup against No. 6 Tennessee in Athens. According to ESPN’s playoff projection, the Bulldogs still have a good chance of entering the playoff if they can outplay Tennessee, UMass and Georgia Tech in a row. But taking the championship home still seems far-fetched.
