What’s this hype with social media? Well, Georgia Bulldogs QB Carson Beck might give millennials a panic attack any day. After all, Kirby Smart’s signal-caller had dedicated his life to his two loves. First football and second, his sweetheart Hanna Cavinder. By now, Beck has realized one thing very well. Social media is a big curse for both the loves of his life. Already the QB has too many things on his plate. He has to mend the loopholes as pointed out by his HC. Plus, he is all set to spread out his wings and fly high as his NFL future is lurking around the corner.
It has only been four months since Beck started dating Cavinder. But the Miami Hurricanes basketball player already knows how tough it’s going to be for her to be the Georgia QB’s ladylove. One slip in her social media game got her to fall prey to online rage. Back on November 3, Beck’s beau posted a lovey-dovey picture from the gridiron showing the two locking arms in love. The caption read, “QB is a QT.” That’s when the fans got into an all-attack mode as Beck struggled with his skills. One of the haters reposted the photo with the caption, “OTDs and 5INTs in 6 quarters since the post.”
This continued as Cavinder was tagged as the “curse” in Beck’s life. So that’s why when Fox 5 Atlanta analyst Sudu Upadhyay sat for an interview, he sought Beck’s advice on guiding kids. The Georgia QB was pretty clear about his advice as he claimed, “For me as far as the media…totally turning it off is how I go about it.”

To Beck, he keeps all his distractions away. In the interview, he claimed that at first, it might feel odd, but at least they will have the energy to invest in the right place. For the millennials on their way to taking football as their profession, Beck had a piece of advice: “Whatever social media I do not have anything on my phone, which honestly is like a good detox…I am kind of in my own bubble.” Now being this disciplined will help the Georgia QB to dedicate himself completely to his greater goal.

Keeping Carson Beck grounded amid high stakes
Stepping into the 2024 kickoff, Beck was viewed as one of the top QBs in the country. Some of the NFL Draft experts even viewed Smart’s signal caller as being the first QB to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. But poor Beck! He failed to live up to the hype this season. His stats have been not that good. He completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,835 yards and 19 touchdowns. Yes, this might look all okay, but it’s his 12 interceptions that are most worrisome.
But there are a few instances as well where Beck proved himself to be a legit threat in the NFL. For instance, Georgia’s big win against Tennessee, where the QB gifted the best feat of his career—25 of 40 passes for 347 yards, paired with two touchdowns and zero turnovers. However, the HC is not willing to make his QB too confident about himself.

Instead, Kirby Smart keeps him grounded. In an interview with UGAsports, the HC made a comment on his signal-caller, “I haven’t really seen anything different. I mean, you guys read into the stats. You just look at the stats and say, ‘Oh, clean game.’ There’s probably some throws there that could have been picked, but there’s also plays in the other games that shouldn’t have been picked.” So, now Beck has a new goal to be absolutely flawless in Smart’s eyes. Not to worry, he has a lot of time in hand to polish his skills!
