Can Colorado survive Week 7 against No. 18 Kansas State? The Wildcats may be favored in points but let’s not forget that a key Buffs defense player is making a comeback. Deion Sanders has already announced that “Shilo’s ready” and the safety is set to hit the field in the next Big 12 showdown on Saturday. Unsurprisingly, his return hyped the defense.
Colorado senior LB Nikhai Hill-Green joined Jake and Ryan on a YouTube stream by DNVR Sports on October 11 ahead of their Kansas State clash on October 12. When asked about Shilo Sanders’ return to the football field, he said, “Shilo, he’s a big communicator, he’s been flying around. And Shilo’s answer is he can’t wait to get back on the field. And I can’t wait to see him out there flying around… I can’t wait to play with him.”
Week 2 took its toll not only on the Buffs as Nebraska rendered them their lone defeat of the season. But it also sidelined the Buffs’ safety, who recorded 11 tackles in two games, for the next three games due to a forearm injury he incurred. His return not only deepens Colorado’s defense with his resilience but also boosts the confidence of players like Hill-Green, who is experiencing his first season at Folsom Field.

Nikhai Hill-Green has been a force so far this season. He played a key role in the Buffs’ defense appearing in all five games and racking up a total of 32 tackles and one sack. Their next game against Kansas State could turn into a test between the defense and running game. Colorado enters the game as a 5.5-point underdog in their next conference battle.
Can Shilo Sanders fortify Colorado’s defense?
With running threats like former Colorado RB Dylan Edwards, the Wildcats rank No. 13 in rushing yards averaging 252.2 RYPG. Deion Sanders is more than excited to face off against his former player whom he has high regard for. Ahead of their clash, he casually dismissed, “We ain’t playing against Dylan Edwards. We’re playing against a darn good football team.”
Still, Colorado is apprehensive of this RB weapon. As DE coach Vincent Dancy said, the Buffs are trying to pattern how they used Edwards last season to get an edge in the upcoming game. Can the defense tackle him? Shilo Sanders may have been knocked out from three games but he’s quite excited to be back. Eyes on him, expectations are divided into positives and negatives. Can he contribute to making a game-changer in the upcoming game? We can’t wait to see him perform after a four-week break. But Kansas State has its own threat to worry about!
