I play from the perspective of how Jesus Christ is on the goalpost watching me play,” said the newly announced starting quarterback of Nebraska. “How would I play to glorify him and his name? Once I do that, I also don’t pretend because he’s really on the goalpost for me,” added Dylan Raiola, who has a spiritual connection with Christianity and whose faith has impacted most of his life decisions.

Dylan Raiola was born on May 9, 2005, to Dominic and Yvonne Raiola and hails from Gilbert, Arizona. His brother Dayton is younger than him, and his sister Taylor is older. On top of that, Dylan comes from a family with strong football ties. His dad, Dominic, was an offensive lineman back in his day who played for 14 years in the NFL for the Detroit Lions and passed the torch to his son. Dylan started his football journey at Burleson, Texas, and since then he’s been making waves in the football world. Currently, a buzz has been going on about his jersey number.

Dylan Raiola explained the long story behind his jersey number 15 during a media interaction. He wore this number during his first year in Florida. “I wore 15 in my first year at Florida. I am a strong Christian person; I played football and I look up to people who have good character and who are good person and Tim Tebow was that guy. I kind of went away from it, and it felt better to wear 15, honestly.” He further shared a funny story. When he was at Buford High School, K J Bolden used to wear No. 1, and after Dylan transferred there, they were sorting out if he could wear No. 1. After which, it worked out to be fifteen, and he started wearing it. He further said that No. 15 kind of fitted him, and it’s a cool number according to him. Apart from that, let’s look at Dylan’s football career until now and learn how he ended up in Nebraska.

After spending some time at Burleson High School, Dylon went to Chandler High School, followed by Buford High School, where he passed 8500 yards and 88 touchdowns through his prep career. Many recruiters held him in high regard and he initially committed to Ohio State for his collegiate career but later switched to Georgia, followed by flipping to Nebraska.

Freshman Dylan Raiola earned Nebraska’s starting quarterback spot in August 2024 because of his exceptional performance on the field. For that position, head coach Matt Rhule had a few names in mind. “We have three guys who we feel like can lead us to win.” Raiola is the No. 7 overall player and No. 2 quarterback ranked by 247 Sports for the 2024 cycle. Dylan made 16 out of 22 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns during the Cornhuskers’ spring game, which led him to grab the starting spot for the 2024 season. Besides that, what are your thoughts on Nebraska’s team for the upcoming season?
