Can Cam Ward be the savior the Browns desperately need after the Watson experiment failed?

There are rumors and gossip all over the place, even before the season ends. The chaos will only increase as the playoff picture gets clearer! Can’t imagine the scenario when these young guys we’ve been following will start a new journey in the bigger league. That’s the dream, right? One such guy is the Miami Hurricanes’ Cam Ward. While Ward’s Heisman chances faded when the Hurricanes lost to Georgia TECH (23-28), there is no doubt that scouts are eyeing him for the 2024 NFL Draft. Overall, Ward has done a great job so far. Broke a few records, set an example, and much more. He holds Miami’s single-season completion percentage mark of 65.8%.

Now, as per the current buzz in the football world, the QB is likely to get settled with the Cleveland Browns. Pro Football Network just revealed it on X. “Will Cam Ward trade one shade of orange for another? The Browns might have the chance to make that happen in April. while he is far from a perfect prospect, Ward shows potential & promise with his ability to improvise outside the pocket and let the ba*l fly all over the field.”

The Browns? Really? Well, for starters, the Cleveland experiment with Deshaun Watson hasn’t worked. Off-the-field controversies, poor play on the field, and then the injury. The Browns’ bet on Watson has failed, and the backup QB, Jameis Winston, has shown that with a better quarterback, the Browns can take on any opponent they face. Their recent win (24-19) over their divisional rivals, the Steelers, in a snow-filled Thursday Night Showdown proves that they can do with a better QB.

It remains uncertain if the Browns are going to continue with Watson when he returns from injury. Of course, there is going to be a historic level of dead cap if they decide to let go of their QB1. However, someone like Cam Ward, on a rookie contract, can come in handy as Cleveland tries to rebuild.

Have an interesting take?

What are the Browns getting in Cam Ward?

In Cam Ward, Miami’s got a new QB king. The guy went off against Wake Forest, breaking the Miami Hurricanes single-season passing yards record set by Bernie Kosar. Any guess for how long it had been there? 40 years! yeah, Ward just broke a record set way back in 1984. Cam Ward entered the game with 3494 yards and only needed 148 more yards to crush that record and he did it even before halftime.

Nine straight completions, a 20-14 halftime lead for the No. 8 Hurricanes, and a sold-out hard rock stadium going crazy for their favorite player. If you’re still doubting the guy, Ward is having the greatest single season by a Miami quarterback ever. He’s already crushed Steve Walsh’s single-season passing touchdown record. On top of that, he became the first Miami QB to rock more than 30 touchdowns in a season.

Not a big deal? Well, Ward’s charm had also been a boon for Xavier Restrepo. the senior wideout is leading Miami’s all-time charts in receptions and touchdowns, and he’s all set to make the single-season receiving yards record as well. apart from that, how can we forget the current Heisman buzz revolving around Cam Ward? Ward’s power-packed season has cemented him as one of the greatest players in college football. Whether it’s turning the program upside down or leading the playoff push, Cam Ward is the guy everyone is laying an eye on.
