Shilo Sanders, the starting safety for Colorado, suffered a forearm injury in the first quarter and was forced to sit out the remainder of the game against Nebraska. He transferred to Colorado to play for his father, Deion Sanders, after graduating from Jackson State last year. This is his last season of collegiate football and he was Colorado’s top tackler the previous year.
As per the track record of the previous year as well as week 1 of this year, fans were very optimistic regarding the victory of the Crimson Tide. But they got upset when Colorado started to lose the game eventually due to some unexpected circumstances. Let’s have a look at the devastating incident.

Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo Sanders, left the Buffaloes’ 28-10 loss to Nebraska because of an arm injury sustained in the first quarter. On this spot, Coach Prime said, “I think a broken forearm, something like that, so he won’t be back at all,“. However, this was not the only tragedy that occurred with the Buffs that night; the team also faced issues regarding Trevor Woods, who was disqualified late in the second quarter after being penalized for targeting.
However, Deion did not leave hope and during the post-game Press Conference Colorado Buffaloes vs Nebraska, when he was asked about Shilo’s injury, he mentioned, “I think injury reports he did something with his foot. Shilo, I think suffered. I don’t know the extent of the injury, but I know he did something to his forearm that put him out for the rest of the game,”. Along with that, expressing hope for the next battle, he stated that Chidozie Nwankwo’s health is getting better, and he added, “I think is an AC joint or something like that I think he’s going to be all right I think he’s going to consequently play this upcoming week,“. Hence, the team is expecting a better defense for their next game. Shilo’s absence shouldn’t hinder us from advancing toward Colorado’s future.
Will Shilo Sanders’ potential injury become a huge setback for Colorado?
On the first defensive play of the game, Nebraska running back Dante Dowdell and Buffaloe’s lineman Shilo Sanders collided during a tackle attempt to halt a 13-yard run. It turned into a devastating injury for Shilo Sanders and he entered the changing area but didn’t come out. Hence, you can understand the intensity of the injury, which can cost a year for the star athlete.
However, you realize that the Buffs did not have a great night against Matt Rhule’s team that day. Even Nebraska’s head coach rubs salt on Deion’s wound and said, “Our defense is a star. Everyone kept talking about this guy, that guy, that guy, and I kept saying, ‘Hey, you’re forgetting our defense.‘“. Not to forget, Shilo was a fast tackle for Colorado, hence his absence can be a setback for the team, but Deion is pretty confident about Buffs’ team spirit and that is why the team is becoming ready for their next battle.
