For those who follow Michigan Wolverines football closely, they know what Sherrone Moore’s program has gone through. Their graph peaked and then hit a nosedive over the last two years. They grabbed the National Championship title in 2023. And BOOM! Their downfall started. Jim Harbaugh left, and in Moore’s debut season, the Wolverines could not even make it to the playoffs. But the HC did land someone special. That’s the No.1 recruit, Bryce Underwood, and it has been an absolute dream come true moment.
After all, the Wolverines fans are pinning high hopes on Underwood to flip their narrative. No matter what he does, the fans get thrilled. Right now, the young chap was spotted fueling Michigan’s in-state rivalry. And the fans are already going gaga over it.

The Bryce Underwood recruiting story is something that college football fans are going to remember for the longest time. The young chap was committed to Brian Kelly’s LUS Tigers. Most of the analysts were sure that Underwood would choose personal ties and stay with Baton Rouge. That’s when Moore pulled off a Hail Mary move.
Well, we don’t have the exact numbers yet. But he had brought to the table a more enticing offer than Kelly had brought for Underwood. Reportedly, it’s more than $10.5 million, likely to be around $12 million. So it’s obvious that the young chap will have big roles to fulfill. His commitment instantly reinvigorated the entire fanbase and raised the bar in Ann Arbor for the coming years. As an early enrollee, Underwood is expected to start in 2025. But as of now, he is having a good time.
On Friday, January 17, the freshman signal-caller decided to take in a Michigan-Michigan State hockey game at the Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Michigan. The 247Sports Michigan Insider, Alejandro Zúñiga, tweeted a picture of Underwood captured on one of the giant screens. The caption read, “Bryce Underwood in the house tonight for Michigan vs. Michigan State hockey.” Well, in recent times college football fans are more into the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes rivalry. Courtesy Kirk Herbstreit and his “lunatic fringe” comment for the Buckeyes fanbase.

But not to forget Michigan’s in-state rivalry. The two programs have an intense college athletic rivalry that includes football, basketball, and ice hockey. The Spartans sit at No. 1 in NCAA Men’s Hockey with an impressive 18-2-2 record. They are now on a mission to seek revenge over the Wolverines after being bounced out of the tournament last season.
So, will the Wolverines’ lucky charm turn out to be unlucky for them? Well, we are yet to figure that out. But the Wolverines are already on cloud nine spotting their new favorite.
Fans couldn’t take their eyes off Bryce Underwood
Looks like the Wolverines fans now see Underwood as the angel who is going to ward off all their woes. Standing tall at 6’3” and weighing 205 pounds, he is a dual-threat passer. So he is definitely the biggest win of the Moore era. While he is yet to turn heads on the gridiron, just by spotting him in the gallery, a fan commented, “MY KING.”
The Wolverines fans did not bother to check out the score. Underwood’s presence itself has been a bonus for them, as one of them wrote, “And we score instantly.”

What a golden opportunity to spread some salt on your rivals’ wounds. Even with their quarterback Aidan Chiles on board, the Spartans struggled in losing six of their seven games. They might be jealous of the Wolverines but also be thankful for having Underwood around. A fan wrote, “Closest MSU will ever get to a high rated QB.”
Another fan wishes to see him in the hockey gear: “Suit him up!! He’d probably like a shot at little brother!! Go Blue!!” Sometimes the emojis are enough to portray what others feel for a person. Like here, a fan just dropped a “🐐” emoji. Of course, to the Wolverines, Bryce Underwood is the GOAT. The young chap better make them proud in the coming days.
