The adventure starts. Wolverines of Michigan, 2025. Now that the 2024 CFB season is over, all eyes are on Ann Arbor for 2025. Next autumn, Michigan’s roster will be very different, especially at QB, where Mikey Keene, a transfer from Fresno State, is anticipated to compete with incoming 5-star freshman Bryce Underwood for the starting spot. The top player in the 2025 class, Bryce Underwood, is eager to start playing for the Maize and Blue, but he took some time to compose a hype video to honor his high school career. However, the question is how he portrays the journey from the Ville to the Big House.
In his most recent Instagram post, ‘The Future of Football’, Bryce Underwood summarized his 11,000-yard high school career with a two-word message with a video clip. The post did really say, “Issa Wrap.” Bryce’s highlights, such as his deep pass passing and touchdown celebrations, were briefly shown in the video. The impression is that ‘Bryce is more than a player; he’s a leader with no.19’ and thinking about his time at Belleville High School makes perfect sense.
Attending Belleville High School, Underwood led the Tigers to two MHSAA Division 1 state championships in 2021 and 2022, achieving the school’s first-ever undefeated season in 2022. Throughout his high school career, he amassed 11,488 passing yards and 152 touchdown passes, both MHSAA state records. His outstanding performance earned him accolades such as the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year in 2021 and National Sophomore of the Year in 2022. Then, in Nov 2024, Underwood committed to Michigan, aiming to elevate the Wolverines to national prominence.

Without a doubt, the Maize and Blue supporters are eager to see Underwood in a Michigan uniform for the first time. That first chance will probably present itself at the Wolverines’ spring game a few months later, but it won’t come around for another 220 days until Michigan’s 2025 regular season opener versus New Mexico. However, we all know, this previous season, the Wolverines struggled at QB. But now it seems Underwood greatly improves the position’s possibilities for the upcoming years.
However, for Michigan’s huge transfer portal call, Underwood had to summarize his high school history.
What’s your perspective on:
Will Bryce Underwood's high school success translate to Michigan's big stage, or is it too soon?

What is Michigan’s transfer portal decision?
As per the recent video of Michigan Sports Talk, Michigan missed on New Mexico State offensive tackle Cheyne Pete, who transferred to Kentucky. And, other offensive line candidates, namely Trevor Mayberry, a former Stanford offensive lineman, didn’t commit to the Wolverines. He committed to Mississippi State. As of now, the only man who isn’t currently enrolled in school is Arizonan Leif Magnuson.
It is pretty clear that the Wolverines’ transfer portal buzz has plummeted. So, Michigan’s transfer portal work is pretty much done, and they probably won’t add anyone else until spring. But who will start as quarterback for Michigan in 2025?
It’s not a good idea to put a true freshman right in the middle. Even with his talent, Bryce Underwood may not be able to handle the pressure of this blueblood program. It was imperative to have a backup plan, particularly in light of the 2024 quarterbacking scandals. As a result, Sherrone Moore has used the transfer portal to hire Mikey Keene.
