Well, we all know that at the end of the 2024 season, college football fans were left on the edge because of the No.1 QB recruit situation. Yes, the great Bryce Underwood drama. The tug-of-war, and finally, the young chap getting lured by Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines. So, it’s obvious that walking into 2025, the spotlight will be over him. Now, just when fans thought of learning about his whereabouts, Underwood seems to be simping in someone else. That’s none other than the NFL QB, who is the hero of the latest Dallas Cowboys’ master move. However, it’s not that he has dedicated all his time there. Underwood did leave a mark in fans’ hearts with his feat at the spring practice.

Moving the pigskin in the NFL is still a far-fetched dream for Underwood. After all, the 17-year-old has just signed up for the 2025 class in Ann Arbor. But so what? The New England Patriots have traded quarterback Joe Milton III to the Dallas Cowboys for a draft pick. The Cowboys acquired Milton and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick (No. 217) in a trade with Mike Vrabel’s squad in exchange for a 2025 fifth-rounder (No. 171). As the NFL posted on Instagram, Underwood was one of the first people to share the news on his IG story. He could not stop himself from leaving a 3-word motivating note for Milton. “LETS GOOOO JOE.” He is slated to be the primary backup for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott since he has been plagued by a series of injuries. But why Milton? The 6th round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft became an absolute favorite, possessing a strong passing arm and an uncanny ability to turn broken plays into positive yardage ones.

His best moment came during Week 18. Milton shot to limelight with his heroic feat against the Buffalo Bills. The QB threw for 241 yards by completing 22 of 29 passes, or nearly 76% of his attempts. But what makes Underwood so excited and hopeful about Milton’s new chapter? Well, the NFL QB had a short stint with Michigan from 2018 to 2020 before jumping to Tennessee Volunteers for three seasons. He was the one who became the Michigan football starting quarterback during the COVID-19 season (2020). But his Ann Arbor chapter was no fairy tale. He got benched later in the year in favor of Cade McNamara. However, ultimately, he proved himself in the pro league, and that’s what matters the most. Meanwhile, as Underwood keeps himself updated about the NFL, he is not compromising on giving his best version.

Berry has been in Ann Arbor for quite some time now. He has witnessed what a high-level quarterback play is. Thanks to his freshman and sophomore season exposure, playing with J.J. McCarthy. Drawing on his first-hand experience, Bryce Underwood reminds him of the former first-round NFL draft pick. The young QB also drew a big thumbs-up from defensive Rayshaun Benny, a fifth-year senior, for his perfect placement. “You look at him, and you’re just, ‘Wow.’ His frame his crazy, so that’s enough in itself. But he’s going to be good.” Bryce Underwood is turning the hype from spring practice into a stepping stone toward his NFL dreams.
