There is some heart-to-heart connection between college football and the NBA! As much as the young athletes see NFL players as their god, they are obsessed with the NBA players as well. And in the NBA, who is bigger than Los Angeles Lakers GOAT LeBron James? From head coaches to players, all are captured by the King’s magic on the basketball court.
Well, we are aware of how the Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders and his sons, along with his dual-threat Travis Hunter, are James’ biggest fans. Now, someone new has signed up on the admirers list. That’s none other than the No.1 recruit and Michigan Wolverines QB Bryce Underwood. Right now the young chap is all about the LeBron James magic.

By now we all know how Underwood has kept the college football programs on their toes. Everyone wanted to land the No.1 recruit. So even after committing to Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers, the quarterback was snatched away by Sherrone Moore. In that way, the athlete owes a lot to the Michigan Wolverines. So much so that his social media is all about Maize and the Blue gang. But January 7 was a bit different. Someone else got featured in Underwood’s IG story, the legendary LeBron James.
The quarterback re-shared a reel by Overtime where the Lakers star is caught in his usual self. However, the fans like Underwood are already going gaga over his moves on the basketball court. The IG page rightly described James as “HE STILL THE MOST ATHLETIC PERSON EVER WTF 🤮” and “LEBRON IS 100 AND DOING THIS W–.” Nobody is going to believe that man is 40 and still making his athletic moves look like a cakewalk. Maybe Underwood too was left surprised as his caption read, “😂bru.”
Who would believe that James is the oldest player in the NBA? He made up for his 8-day absence as the Lakers took on the Dallas Mavericks on January 7, Tuesday night. In the very first quarter, the King turned back to the clock for a signature dunk that combined speed and power like only he could. The internet has been left surprised by the sight of James switching hands for the left-handed windmill, and so is Underwood. Meeting up with the Lakers legend might now be on the quarterback’s bucket list. It won’t be that impossible to achieve.

If you think that James is all about basketball and the NBA, you are mistaken. He is a true Ohio State fan at heart. So much so, that after the Buckeyes Rose Bowl win, he came with a sweet gesture. James wore Ohio State-themed shoes during Friday’s win against the Atlanta Hawks. Plus, he is one of the closest pals of the Colorado Buffaloes HC Deion Sanders. In that way, he is very much aware of what’s going on in the college football landscape. And he has been an avid follower of college football. So much so that he often surprised the college football stars with occasional gifts. Even though Bryce Underwood is new in CFB, experienced players like Shedeur and Travis Hunter know that James has a big heart.
Ever since the duo went to the NBA game to watch the Denver Nuggets facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers, they have been starstruck with the Hall of Famer. Ever since then, Deion Sanders’ son started to drop hints here and there, asking for James to send them jerseys. Hunter already had been lucky.
Back in December 2023, the Buffs dual-threat posted on IG thanking the legend as he posed in a signed pair of sneakers and a jersey. Now it was Shedeur’s turn. LeBron James did not break the Buffs QB’s heart.

Last year in February, Shedeur proudly boasted a signed pair of LeBron sneakers while also showing off a signed jersey as well. Now that Bryce Underwood is basking in No. 1 recruit status, it won’t be long before his space is decked out in LeBron James glory.
