Is Brian Kelly the wrong fit for LSU? Should we bring back Coach O to save the season?

Brian Kelly was at the forefront of all the media hate after witnessing a tough Tigers team being 17 points behind in the first quarter. This is the same team that dominated the SEC East division with a 10-3 record last season, and this bashing from South Carolina was a stain on their reputation. Fortunately, Kelly’s team made a major turnaround to win the game, but not before being subjected to some major hazing. The criticism from the fans reached such a peak that the former LSU coach, Ed Orgeron’s name was invoked as a plea to come back and take the team to heights of success, something which Kelly seems to be lacking at.

On 14th September, Micahel Casagrande took to X to reminisce about the time when Edward Orgeron used to be the head coach for the LSU Tigers since Brian Kelly wasn’t doing too well with the team at the moment. The Tigers have been trailing behind the South Carolina team with a 17-0 score throughout the first quarter. Now, they seem to have stepped up their game and upped the scoreboard to a 16 against the Gamecocks’ 24.

Casagrande replied to the LSU, trailing by a 17-0 score, and wrote, “BRING COACH O HOME.” He’s joining the other wave of LSU fans who are disappointed with the team’s performance, as the first quarter saw an uncoordinated team failing to complete their passes. They have managed to move the odds in their favor a bit, but it will be interesting to see whether they can make the comeback they need to win this game. The Tigers were saved by a miracle as they somehow ended up winning against the Gamecocks even after such a brutal bashing and this is what Kelly had to say about the unpredictable comeback.

Brian Kelly addresses the insane redemption of the Tigers

Upto the 4th quarter of the game, the Gamecocks had a lead until the final play of the game, where LSU managed to record 14 points before eventually winning it by a score of 36-33. It’s safe to say that even the LSU fans had no hopes of coming back from such a one-sided game, but Kelly’s players pulled off a fantastic job to secure the 2nd position on the points table.

Kelly himself seemed surprised with the victory that the team was able to pull off, and he stated so in his post-game interview as well, saying, “Yeah, great college football game.  I’m so proud of the grit and the perseverance of a football team down 17-nothing on the road in the SEC against a veteran football team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The guys work so hard. They’re not gonna give up, that’s in their DNA. They’re not going to let the rope slip, they’re just going to keep playing now.” Thus, this game would take the LSU team back to the drawing board to ensure no such thing happens against their next opponents like UCLA and South Alabama.
