Good ol’ LSU. Coming off of that massive win against the Rebels, HC Brian Kelly is here to show all that a comeback is in the picture for the Tigers. With the overtime win over the Rebels, the rest of the schedule looks quite easy for Brain Kelly and Co. There ain’t no game they can’t win. However, as that chapter continues to unfold, Kelly has started winning in a different department this season.
We just got the news from MLFootball that the son of a legend and former NFL WR Larry Fitzgerald is coming to visit Kelly. “NEWS: Wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald, the son of legendary #NFL WR Larry Fitzgerald plans to attend, LSU, this weekend,” MLFootball noted. It couldn’t get any better for Kelly. Why, you might ask? Devin Fitzgerald ain’t a normal kid. This guy has grown up watching his father play and make a name for himself as arguably one of the best CFB WRs back in 2002 and 2003.

Devin has already made a name for himself as a sophomore. With 2 touchdowns on 15 catches along with 175 receiving yards, this guy is going strong. As per 247Sports, Devin is already regarded as a 3-star WR in the 2026 class.
While he does have offers from Akron, Arizona, Minnesota, and Bowling Green, visiting LSU, despite not having an offer from them yet, marks a new beginning for Brain Kelly’s new roster. It looks like the $90+ million investment LSU made in hiring Kelly is paying off.

The game against the Razorbacks this weekend can be the final deciding factor regarding Devin joining the Tigers. Let’s see if Kelly manages to clutch it or not. Also, we gotta talk about something else as well. Being the son of an NFL legend doesn’t come easy. While it does bring a lot of skill and understanding of the game, Devin still has to walk in his father’s shadow and that ain’t something he’s going to settle for.
Devin Fitzgerald on making a name for himself
In a brief interview with Leukla Ruterman, Devin made it quite clear that he does not want to live in his father’s shadow for the rest of his life. “I’m trying to build, like, my own name,” the WR mentioned.

Devin’s gotta make every snap count. We already saw him perform for Brophy during their 2023 game and Devin brought in quite the stats for the team. While his final commitment is still a mystery, it is for sure that fans can expect great things from this guy.
