Three-star cornerback Aidan Anding, who returned to football last fall, is making headlines as he announced his commitment to join the LSU Tigers for their 2025 recruiting class. “The best in the boot stays in the boot!” Anding stated as he made the big announcement on social media on August 24.
After visiting the Louisiana State University in June, he joined the Tigers, choosing them over Texas, Arkansas, Miami, TCU, and others. As always, Brian Kelly, head coach of LSU, showed why he is among the best head coaches in the country. The 5-foot-11, 160-pound player is a multi-sport athlete who plays basketball and competes in track and field. Anding is the 25th commitment for the Tigers, currently the No. 3 recruiting class, competing with Alabama’s No. 2 spot. Ohio State is leading at the moment.
In conversation with On3’s reporters, Anding shared his reason behind committing to the Tigers, “Really, it’s the in-state school, but me, I wasn’t much of a football player (growing up) I was a basketball player, but I didn’t really watch basketball that much. I had nothing in my mind about football. But, after hearing (about LSU) and seeing stuff about it, it’s a good program, for one, and it’s the in-state school with a lot of fans and love shown to that program.”

“Me being from Louisiana, if I go play for the best college football team in Louisiana, I can make a name for myself and they’ll pour more into me because from I’m from Louisiana,” he added.

Although Anding is not as popular as DJ Pickett, the No. 1 cornerback in America, or Kade Phillips, a top 10 CB in the 2025 class, he is still a three-star prospect, which speaks about his athletic career so far. The cornerback is from Ruston, Louisiana, and is part of Ruston High School’s football team. The Ruston Bearcats are preparing for their first game of the 2024 season, which is on August 31, against Neville.

Texas was Anding’s first choice earlier in the summer. But then, he was always an LSU fan. He was thrilled when he learned the Tigers wanted to recruit him. And his visit to Baton Rouge gave him more confidence to go with the Tigers instead.
After visiting Louisiana State University, Anding shared his experience with Geaux247 and discussed how the coaching staff felt he had potential. The university called him for camp, but he couldn’t attend because he was busy in the spring and summer. He also shared that the school was welcoming and liked their belief in him and his potential.
Since Anding’s strong, impressive return to football, he has caught the attention of many coaches, including LSU’s defensive backs coach Corey Raymond.

“He’s a dawg at what he does,” Anding said about Raymond. “It’s impressive with the guys that he has helped get to the next level, and they feel they can do that with me. I talked with him the other day, and it was great. The offer meant a lot, and talking with Coach Frank was great. They see something in me and feel like they can help me get to the next level.”
The local boy feels fortunate to join the team because now his family can watch him play closely in the stadium.
