Is the Heisman hype machine ignoring Bryson Daily's record-breaking feats for more popular names?

The army quarterback Bryson Daily was phenomenal in his team’s victory over East Carolina. He rushed for five touchdowns and threw one. This makes him the first in the history of the Black Knights to account for six touchdowns since 1916 when Elmer Oliver made that record. Isn’t it next to impressive? The 6-foot-221-pound senior of the Army completed the game with 171 yards rushing on 31 carries and 7 of 10 passing for 147 yards. Despite all that, why is there not much hype surrounding him?

Rivals shared a series of pictures on Instagram, asking a question about Daily that is on everyone’s mind. “How is he NOT in the Heisman discussion?“. Is he in the discussion? Not really! All we have heard about is Ashton Jeanty and Travis this past few weeks. Is there a case for Bryson Daily’s inclusion? Let’s see what Rivals had to say.

We’ll go one by one. The first and foremost! How is the team doing? 7-0 record, not bad. No. 23 in the AP Top 25. Better than Colorado Buffs and a little behind Boise State. Let us get into the performances. Daily currently leads the nation with 19 rushing TDs. That is….good? Add to that 7 passing touchdowns, along with 909 rushing yards and 629 passing yards. If he were doing it in the SEC, ESPN would have been calling him the greatest two-way threat to have existed in the history of mankind. A little stretch, but you get our point!

Daily is also the no. 1 rated QB as per PFF. Still, there are others who are higher than him on the Heisman list. Daily is at +7500 in the Heisman odds, and despite the horrible performances by Carson Beck and Jalen Milroe this past Saturday, they are much higher on the list. How does that make any sense? Let’s say it’s about winning, and Beck won despite throwing some laughable interceptions. What about Milroe? His team lost, and he couldn’t get a third down to save his life. These are just two QBs we have mentioned. There are others on the list.

Have an interesting take?

Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty is holding on to his lead in the Heisman race at +220. The closest player? We have Cam Ward at +260. The Miami quarterback was incredible through his team’s 52-45 win over Louisville on Saturday.

Third on the list is the No. 1 ranked team, Oregon’s quarterback Dillon Gabriel, with +380 odds. Clemson QB is in the top 5 thanks to their overall record and his impressive performances at +1600. Out of the top 5 but not that out? Who? The two-way star of the Buffs, Travis Hunter. His chances faded after he suffered a shoulder injury and stayed on the sidelines throughout the Arizona game on Saturday.

There is Georgia quarterback Carson Beck with 2500 odds of winning the Heisman. However, his performance this season is nowhere near what Bryson Daily is doing, and that is the whole point. What is the basis of this thing? Does it make sense to you guys?
