If you love the Mario and Luigi duo, then how could you not adore the Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter duo? These 2 have managed to single-handedly pull the Buffs out of the tough spot they were in. Yeah, we agree that they did have some support, but the Buffs without Shedeur and Hunter are nothing. They are like the secret ingredient of what makes Deion Sanders’ roster so special. So, naturally, as the 2025 NFL draft slowly creeps up, the separation anxiety gets real.
On the October 1st episode of 2Legendary, Shedeur opens up about how he feels regarding the entire thing. “That’s why I’m blessed. You know, in this college space, I did do almost a lot that I wanted to do,” Shedeur points out. The chemistry that Shedeur and Hunter have maintained on the turf is something beautiful. We all know that with Pat Shurmur on board, Shedeur’s ability to play from the pocket has increased exponentially.
Mix that with Hunter’s versatility as the WR and you get a combination that can blow out the best teams. Take the UCF game as an example. Both Shedeur and Hunter were explosive. Buffs started the game off with a touchdown at 3:49 minutes. Shedeur landed a 23-yard pass to Hunter, and we got to witness Travis’s iconic Heisman celebration pose.

The game ended with 48-21 on the scoreboard. Shedeur managed to rack in 3 touchdowns along with 1 interception and Hunter went 7 catches, 1 touchdown, and 81 yards. However, we think that the best showcase of Shedeur and Hunter’s abilities came during the Baylor game. 2 main instances where both Shedeur and Hunter managed to turn things around for Deion Sanders and the Buffs.
It was almost the end, with 2 seconds on the clock. Shedeur had to think fast, and he did what only ‘Shedeur Sanders’ could pull. From a collapsing pocket, Shedeur threw a 43-yard Hail Mary to LaJohntay Wester and Wester converted it to a touchdown. Pushing the game into overtime. When it was Hunter’s turn, he sealed the deal with a game-winning fumble at the last moment and the Buffs took it home with 38-31 on the scoreboard. Now the question that every Buffs fan probably has on their mind is when these 2 guys go into the draft, which team would be picking them up?

However, there are some other contenders on the list as well. For Shedeur, the biggest player right now would be the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is already struggling with his QB dilemma and bringing in Shedeur seems like the best option for the Dallas Cowboys. This guy is talented, is young, and has the “bling”.
Now, for Hunter, there’s one big issue. See, Travis is a 2-way player, and he wants to continue being that even in the NFL. The biggest concern is playing that many snaps on 2 different roles is physically taxing. The NFL is in a different league when compared to CFB, so Hunter has to pick his role carefully.
