Ohio State Buckeyes have won the long-awaited and well-deserved CFB 2024 championship title. And with that comes the post-season banters and comparisons of player performances. But whatever may be the case, it seems the current Ole Miss head coach, Lane Kiffin, has ultimately found himself a party to one of the bitter banters on the internet. So, what’s he done exactly? Let’s unearth that.
Well, it all started when a page named ‘NFL Rookie Watch’ posted on its page some detailed stats. That termed the Buckeyes’ running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson as the best RB duo of all time. That didn’t go down well with the former USC Trojans Running back LenDale White. Who said, “I had just as many touchdowns as both of them by myself. This is blasphemy“. The conversation should have ended with this. But then came the reply of Lane Kiffin. He replied in three words, “In less games“. Kiffin seemed to agree with the former RB and praised him for achieving the same feat in fewer games than the duo. So, is there any truth to Kiffin’s and LenDale’s claims?

Both Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson had an incredible season that culminated in a fairytale finish. They did score, 27 touchdowns combined and ran for a total of 2,076 yards. Add that to a total of 445 receiving yards, they were undoubtedly phenomenal. And if various reports are to be believed, they are considered two very hot commodities in the NFL. But, what about LenDale White’s heroics in his career?
LenDale White undoubtedly had a great career in college football with USC between 2003-2005. Also, his combination with his fellow RB partner Reggie Bush is still remembered in USC circles. Together, they formed a ‘Thunder and Lightning’ duo, as dubbed by the USC fans, and ran havoc on the gridiron in their era.

As for stats, LenDale is technically not right with his statement, but he did have similar (24) touchdowns to the Buckeyes’ duo, 27 TDs in the 2005 season. Which also was the highest in the season. Not only that, if you combine the TDs for Bush, too, they both had 40 touchdowns in total in 2005, which is a humongous number in a season. Merit where it’s due, LenDale was actually pretty phenomenal in his time. Well, moving on, let’s see what Lane Kiffin is up to.
Lane Kiffin’s exploits in the season
Apart from his hot takes on X, Lane Kiffin had a pretty bland season. They finished 5th in the SEC with a 10-3 record. However, they did demolish the Duke Blue Devils by 52-20 in the Gator Bowl. Overall, it can be said that they had good passing games but mainly lacked rushing prowess. But, they didn’t achieve the desired milestone and missed the playoffs as they were placed 16th in the CFP Rankings. Which may be the reason for Kiffin’s apparent internet antics? Or is it something different?

Whatever may be the reason for his social media antics. It is now clear that they will have to start building for the coming season from now on. This is because their ace Quarterback, Jaxson Dart, who is a senior, is eyeing the NFL draft. That means that they have a QB problem in their camp. Although they have Austin Simmons as their freshman quarterback in the pipeline, But he needs the experience and time to develop as a first-choice QB.
In conclusion, now it is time to see how Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss plan their recruitment. And if they get their QB problem sorted, then maybe Kiffin can lead Ole Miss into the playoffs of the 2025 season, after all.
