Home/College Football

Okay, so the most controversial man in the NFL, Bill Belichick, has walked into college football. Yes, the same man who coached GOAT Tom Brady. The same person who was embroiled in the “Spygate” controversy. Classic Belichick! Now he’s in college football with the North Carolina Tar Heels; it’s time for some new hoopla.

Well, we get the excitement of the North Carolina fans. The Tar Heels were already frustrated with their former HC Mack Brown. Now that they got the six-time Super Bowl winner Belichick as Brown’s replacement, they went gaga. However, they got a grounding alert. Reports say there have not been any pen-and-paper agreements between the two parties.

As NFL insider Dov Kleiman tweeted, “𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: Bill Belichick’s contract at North Carolina is still UNSIGNED, per @jjones9. “Industry sources say that could lead to a legal gray area about how much, if any, of a buyout there would be if Belichick left for the pros.” The tweet ended with a question that left the fans in panic, “Is he planning on making a move to the NFL?”

Rumor has it that Belichick has a $10 million buyout clause in his UNC contract, but it drops to just $1 million after June. That’s got NFL teams like the Cowboys and Raiders sniffing around. Imagine a Belichick-Brady reunion in Vegas! Especially now that the Raiders just fired their coach, Antonio Pierce, the buzz around Belichick is louder than ever. But looks like there is no need to worry anymore.

As the rumors started to flare up, someone decided to shut down the speculations. That’s none other than Belichick’s lady love, 24-year-old Jordon Hudson

Is Bill Belichick's college football stint a genius move or a recipe for disaster?

Have an interesting take?

After all, Belichick’s ladylove has warded off all the doubts through her latest post on Instagram. On January 16, Jordon posted a picture with Belichick where she looked gorgeous in a white dress while the ex-New England Patriots HC looked dapper in a suit. Jordon was spotted holding a pigskin. The caption of the post read, “Pictured: two people who are overtly committed to @uncfootball 🩵🏈.”

Jordon’s two other posts from the same day showed her wearing the North Carolina hoodie, and in the other one, Belichick’s girlfriend posed in front of the Carolina logo.

This was the first time that Jordon’s account had anything about North Carolina. Otherwise, it’s filled with her posing with birdies, or from her serene getaways, or about her cheerleading career in BSU. So, there must be some constructive update about Belichick finalizing his UNC contract on pen and paper. However, he did not wait for the final signing and had already started to spread his recruiting magic.

Bill Belichick’s strategic moves to the rescue

Maybe more because of compulsion rather than choice. After all, ever since Belichick stepped into North Carolina, 18 players have decided to hit the transfer portal. The latest blow came with the 19th player too leaving Chapel Hill. Probably that was the biggest loss as the Tar Heels lost their 2800-yard QB, Jacolby Criswell, who is now looking for a new home.

After all, it was Criswell who pulled up the program in their darkest of times. Last season, North Carolina’s favorite QB, Drake Maye, committed to the 2024 NFL Draft. That’s when they counted on the two other options, Max Johnson and Conner Harrell. But fate had different plans.

Johnson’s stint had been cut short after getting injured while Harell failed at his role miserably. That’s when the program found Criswell, who later proved his dominance, leading the struggling Tar Heels to the Fenway Bowl. Now that he is all set to spread his wings and fly high, does that mean North Carolina will be in a mess?

When there is Bill Belichick, there is nothing to worry about. The ex-NFL HC had already arranged the moves. Guessing that a Jacolby Criswell fallout is likely to happen, he has secured the commitment of the 4-star quarterback Bryce Baker. Plus, he also landed the phenom from Purdue who carried a chip on his shoulder, Ryan Browne. But still, doubt prevailed about his HC role, which has now been taken care of.
