Home/College Football

After the chaotic week 8 of college football, everything is expected to look very messy and out of place in the highly watched-out AP ranking list, but it’s safe to say it would be a beautiful mess for Dan Lannings’ Oregon Ducks. The top 10 shake-up in the college football rankings kicked in, with the Ducks raising their bar as the new No. 1 in the Coaches Poll released last Sunday. While it’s undeniably a lingering effect of their breathtaking win against Ohio State, the projection recoups the history of 2012 when coach Chip Kelly bagged a similar top-25 spot under his belt.

Adding to this super proud anticipation for the web fonts, ON3‘s Steve Wiltfong served some focused hope and glaring caution. The premium top-five class is moving the needle in the college football season. Amidst all the bigwigs, Oregon steals the spotlight, be it through a consistently good game or a huge business class win of the last week. The meat is a seamless transition from No.2 to No. 1 in the AP poll. Capitalizing on the momentum, insider sees them at the top at the moment amidst all the other bigwigs.

When asked about the tally with the high-impact teams Ohio State, LSU, USC, and Washington, Steve Wiltfong believes the Ducks will go a long way. ”They would be a second straight top-five class, we talked about all the other names at the top of the show here but look this class is already fantastic. Oregon because Oregon is that handsome man walking into the room right now.”

The praise isn’t an exaggeration at all. If you worry about the remaining schedule of the Ducks, you better take a chill pill.  The remainder of the games are relatively weak for the Ducks, who are eying an undefeated season, toppling their most difficult opponent, Ohio State, on the road. However, Wiltfong puts one condition for chiseling out the best of the super constructive Oregon Ducks.

Oregon Ducks should be super protective of their current recruits

The Ducks continued their Ohio State dominance in a statement 35-0 win against Purdue last Saturday. They rushed to the game with one less day to buckle up after the previous game, but that couldn’t dim their shine. Rather, it culminated in a huge shoutout win against the Boilermakers, stunning the CFB fans.

Dillon Gabriel, with an impressive stat of 21-of-25 passes for 290 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, was on the watch of a remarkable Saturday night. Just for the elite recruits like him, Wiltfong suggested the Ducks’ regent to guard their commits like anything.

Next, Oregon will challenge  No. 22 Illinois on Saturday, followed by matchups against Michigan, Maryland, Wisconsin, and Washington. What do you think about their growing odds to emerge as the top-tier amidst a slew of high-flying teams at the end? Let us know in the comments.
