How do you approach life as Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers after a 49-point loss? The honeymoon period is starting to get over now for the head Husker. With the real tests coming towards him in the second half of the season it’s really fast. “We’ll find out a lot about ourselves moving forward,” Rhule told reporters. But first, they need to find more of the Buckeyes, coming for Nebraska this Saturday.

It didn’t take too long. As the big Huskers guy, Adam Carriker took to his Carriker Chronicles YouTube Channel featuring ESPN’s Joey Galloway to share insights about Matt Rhule. And let me tell you this, they had a lot to say.

Adam started it off with his usual welcome to ‘The People’s Show’ as he likes to call it. Then he jumped straight to business, about the two major failures he faced so far ”” the 31-24 loss to the 20th-ranked team Illinois, and the recent 56-7 humiliation playing against Indiana. In fact, the Huskers fans demanding a quick change in the roster has become the biggest concern for Rhule and Co. “It’s interesting because when you talk about Matt Rhule and everything that’s going on there’s it’s tough with Husker fans. Because they look at Indiana and they see how quickly they did it and they see how quickly it’s happening other places,” said Carriker’s co-host Joey Galloway.

Another collective concern for the Huskers is they need to beat some of the high-ranked programs. USC is on there, then Wisconsin, Iowa, and Ohio State coming this weekend. Knocking off some of these opponents could change the narrative surrounding the program. As Galloway pointed out, “This thing could turn out really good if you can knock off some of those guys and it can really look ugly if you don’t.” And a strong finish is crucial for Nebraska to attract top recruits. Because, despite their 5-2 record, the Huskers have faced criticism due to their poor second-half performances.

Matt Rhule had a partner in crime last weekend

The Offensive coordinator Marcus Satterfield had a lot of reasons for his unit’s struggles on Saturday and didn’t take the bullet like White. However, in certain areas, like issues in the run game, he said, “It’s a lot on me, I have to commit to it.”

Getting shredded in the manner Nebraska did last Saturday wasn’t just because of the coaching. The Huskers gave up to 4.2 yards per carry after contact and averaged just 2.4 yards per carry total. Just for perspective, the leading teams like Miami are at 7.9 and Army at 7.5.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Matt Rhule turn the Cornhuskers around, or is it time for a new game plan?

Have an interesting take?

But these guys still believe in Matt Rhule and what he has done for the program. They advised the fans to hold their horses pointing out the facts, “We just beat Michigan 21-7 and I know Michigan’s not Michigan but they’re still Michigan if that sense, and we also have a win over Colorado so those are the facts.” He along with Joe agreed while there’s no need to panic yet. But not denying the fact that some things need changing.

Have something to say?

Let the world know your perspective.
