Poor Ryan Day! He had seen enough this season. The Ohio State Buckeyes HC was almost on the verge of losing his job. However, for the time being, he has brought the fire under control. That’s because Day gifted fans with two back-to-back big wins. 21-41 against Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks and 42-17 against Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers. Now all eyes are on the Cotton Bowl on January 10. It’s sad to find out that even after being on a winning spree, a big crisis awaits HC Day. One misstep and BOOM! The Buckeyes HC knows how that going to usher in tough times for his family. However, to another ESPN analyst, it’s Steve Sarkisian who has more at stake.
Even after defeating the Vols, Day failed to put that smile on the Buckeyes’ fans’ faces. That’s because he now carries the burden of the 10-13 loss against Sherrone Moore’s Wolverines. Why does the Michigan loss turn out to be a big deal for the Ohio State HC? Well, as analyst Albert Breer pointed out how the former Ohio State HC John Cooper underwent a poor fate even after serving the Buckeyes for 13 long years. He stated, “I was there when John Cooper was fired…it was really because they weren’t winning at the same clip that they had been winning at before and there was the Michigan problem.” Well, Ohio State has no matchups scheduled against Michigan for this season. But so what?

It’s surely going to make a comeback. Atleast the analysts feel so. Colin Cowherd on his podcast, raised a warning for the Buckeyes HC. He started with, “Who’s facing more pressure Ryan Day or Sark? So think about this. Ohio State backed up the brinks truck $20 million for this team they look aesthetically like the best team and they have rebounded from that Michigan loss with two dominating wins.” So far it’s all good. Then Cowherd chose to drop the curtains to reveal what might be in store for Day.
He continued, “But again if they lose to Texas people are going to say when’s the last time you beat Michigan that’s probably the worst loss in our program in 20 years.” Well, that loss has been truly painful. After all, it marked the first time since 1993 that an unranked Michigan team beat a ranked Buckeyes team. Already Day has seen enough when it comes to the Ohio State fans.

How Steve Sarkisian shares the hot seat with Ryan Day
Kirk Herbstreit had to take a stand for his friend Day. He noted, “I hear things that he and his family go through. Especially Nina, his wife. His son, who gets death threats from multiple, multiple people. And what it’s doing to them as a family.” As the analyst described the Buckeyes fan base as “lunatic fringe,” Day took some serious actions before the matter went out of his hands. Some unruly Ohio State fans have forced the head coach to get 24/7 armed security at his home.
Even among the college football fans, there were few who were very disturbed. As one of them wrote, “I can’t stand the s- -keyes…but…that is NOT OK…Blessing on the Day family💛💙” while another one expressed his frustration, “What is wrong with people?” Well, now after all these if you think that the Texas Longhorns HC Steve Sarkisian is at a better place, let’s just pop your bubble!

Not to forget the Longhorns are looking for its first national championship in 19 years. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes are enough to leave enough panic for Steve Sarkisian’s program. On top of that, the lack of firepower from the SEC this season fuels the fear. That’s when ESPN’s Heather Dinich commented, “It’s 100 percent Sark, because he’s carrying the banner not just for his program but for the entire SEC.” Well, fans are not bothered about whose seat is hotter. It’s about who makes use of the heat to win the title.
