Michigan and Sherrone Moore ain’t giving up on their Bryce Underwood hope anytime soon. The playoff hope might have died for the Wolverines amidst a slew of unforgivable offensive errors and a sloppy defense, but the next year can be their turn to change the humiliation into glory. It might sound too hypothetical to even imagine, but if Moore can rightly use his recruitment autonomy, it isn’t that far-fetched. After all, Underwood, the top recruit of the nation, has all the qualities and stats under his belt that Moore and his team are looking to resolve their quarterback issues for a long time. Now it begs the most deciding question: will the 17-year-old phenom ditch LSU falling for a lucrative $4 million gamble? Michigan insider Sam Webb sees a slim chance.
The desperate experiment with Davis Warren, Jack Tuttle, and Alex Orji in the starting QB spot laid bare the pathetic decision-making prowess and the overall QB strength the team possesses. While Moore and the in-state boosters continue to find the all-in-one answer in LSU’s Underwood, let’s just get the bleak reality cleared from Samm Webb. The insider speaks, “The connections that go along with the Alumni network, all the other things that you can sell, and now the pitch becomes Sherrone Moore. What can you do to balance the equation that they clearly have? He’s committed to LSU for a reason, Brandon, and he loves Joe Sloan. Joe Sloan is his guy, right? They developed Jayden Daniels, a Heisman Trophy winner, and they have a great offense. He grew up in LSU, so what can you do, Sherrone Moore?

The veteran coach had a horrible first year with the Wolverines. The next year also seems a fishy hope as Moore got zero QB commit for 2025 so far, with Carter Smith, a four-star quarterback, backing off from his words. But amidst all the odds, the one thing that made him stand out is his unwavering belief in what the team has in store for their recruits. Moore believes the athletes will fall for the atmosphere, the culture, and the positivity prevailing all around Michigan’s camp.
But apart from the national championship glory and the healthy culture flex, Webb wants him to have a holistic development approach to seal the deal with some big fishes in the pond. ”Sherrone’s speech has to be, I had a national championship offense. I’m gonna do whatever I have to do with you as a centerpiece to get that National Championship offense back, whatever I got to do. You got to make that pitching, you got to make it believable with all the other things that you have to offer,” Webb said.

However, it’s pertinent to note that Underwood has been quite vocal in his rejection of Michigan’s boosters’ lump sum paycheck deal. In an Instagram post that claimed Michigan would buy him with all their big-money moves, the LSU QB laughed it off in the comments. While it would not be a surprise if he changes his mind anytime soon, Moore will seemingly face more trouble ahead on the road.

James Yodar from Chat Sports highly expected a transfer portal entry for Alex Orji, the starting QB for the Washington game who failed to live up to the hope as Davis Warren’s replacement. The popular discussion says he would prefer to go somewhere closer to Texas, where he can try out different positions than just QB, which is clearly not working out with Michigan.
The rumors are no different for another freshman, QB Jadyn Davis. The young athlete started his journey with the Wolverines last December. But before he became a full-fledged game-ready, Yodar couldn’t see him with the team in the long haul. What’s your take on Bryce Underwood’s issue getting more complicated for Sherrone Moore?
