From a rough 4-8 season to a solid 8-3 record—what a glow-up for Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes! But let’s be real, Coach Prime didn’t pull this off solo. His secret weapon? His quarterback son, Shedeur Sanders, has been right by his side since Deion took over in 2023. Shedeur is living the dream, balling out under the guidance of his legendary dad.

Last year was a struggle for the Buffs, but the 2024 season has flipped the script. With Shedeur gearing up for his final college games, the nostalgia is hitting hard. Sure, Week 13 wasn’t their best, and the win streak ended, but Shedeur has always stepped up when it mattered—from Hail Mary touchdowns to narrowly dodging injury. As the season winds down, Coach Prime is soaking it all in, reflecting on how far they’ve come.

He took to Instagram and shared his glimpses from December 2022 and wrote, “Throwback Thursday #CoachPrime @shedeursanders @cubuffsfootball.” The video is special because it has Shedeur in it. “Gone be making plays in here,” Deion Sanders says in the video, and guess what? Since then, neither Deion nor Shedeur have looked behind. We are sure Deion and his son are going to cherish his moments forever. The video holds millions of memories, although it can’t encompass every moment. However, Deion and Shedeur Sanders hold all the lovely experiences from the past two years close to their hearts.

But who is the quarterback going to join next? Brad Gagnon from the Bleacher Report predicted that Shedeur might join the New York Giants. The franchise is struggling with the quarterback position, and if not Shedeur, then who? Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Bo Nix were among the top drafts in 2024, and Shedeur feels that if he had entered the draft last year, he would have been better. “I feel like I was the best quarterback in the last draft, too,” he said. It looks like this season he is!

However, last week came with challenges, and he could not do much to help Buffs. The Kansas Jayhawks’ defense was very strong, and they successfully stopped the Buffs’ offense from making big plays. This also limited Shedeur’s game, and he could only complete 23 out of 29 passes attempted for 266 yards, but we cannot ignore his three crucial touchdowns. And you may ask, did his last performance affect his draft? No, it did not; he is still among the top 5 picks. Moving ahead, let’s see if Shedeur can lead the Buffs to the playoffs.

Will Shedeur Sanders lead the Buffs to the playoffs?

Week 13 has changed the entire dynamics of college football. The top seven teams lost, and the college football rankings saw a major shift. Deion Sanders and the Buffs had a chance to write their destiny when it comes to the Big 12. They played against the Kansas Jayhawks, who entered the game after handing BYU their first loss of the season.

The Buffs registered their third defeat of the season against the Jayhawks, 37-21, which has now limited their playoff hopes. Last week they were standing at No. 16, but after their recent loss, their rankings dropped significantly, and now they are standing at No. 25. They have four Big 12 teams ranked higher than them. Does that mean that they cannot enter the playoffs? No! They still have a chance, but with three losses, the chances are low.
