Was Kyron Hudson's one-handed catch the best play of the season so far? Let's hear your thoughts!

What an incredible catch! USC’s WR Kyron Hudson stole the show tonight as two CFB powerhouses met tonight at Allegiant Stadium to put speculations to rest. Both LSU and USC are entering a new conference with a new QB this season, so all eyes are on them.

Week 1’s 1st quarter of the LSU vs USC game didn’t pop any number on the board. Yet, it gave us a better look at the new starters who are breaking into their new roles. But the second quarter is where things get a little more spicy as star receiver Kyron Hudson assists the first points of the game in an outstanding manner.

USC’s WR Kyron Hudson’s spectacular catch of the night has left many viewers in awe, including the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Apparently, former USC star QB Caleb Williams had been watching the clash against LSU on the screen. Taking to his IG story on September 2, he posted a close-up selfie of his upper face with the caption, “10 you’re insane @kyronhudson_.”

After leaving a barren first quarter behind, Kyron Hudson displayed his skills in a spectacular one-handed 24-yard catch passed by Miller Moss in the second quarter, giving RB Woody Marks a chance to secure a 2-yard TD. This took the Trojans to a 7-0 lead in their season opener against LSU. Kyron Hudson recorded 34 receptions for 345 yards and five TDs in his career. If he continues to display such skills, USC might see their first win under QB Miller Moss, who’s starting the season for the first time.

Will the QB replacements fulfill the crowd’s expectations?

The Trojans produced the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in QB Caleb Williams who joined the Chicago Bears. The Tigers also lost their 2023 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 2 pick to the Washington Commanders Jayden Daniels. So, it’s more or less a battle between two starter QBs who finally got a move up from their backup roles.

Replacements entered in the form of LSU Garrett Nussmeier and USC Miller Moss, both of whom had been longtime backups. Nussmeier had been at LSU since 2021. After he made his first start in the 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl in January with 395 yards and three TDs, he’s beginning his real role in 2024. Likewise, Miller Moss has also been around with USC since 2021 and has earned Lincoln Riley’s trust and respect. Both teams are aiming for nothing short of a CFP appearance, so this game is going to serve as the foundation for their season.
