Another day, another surprise! Buckle up fans, here are some new updates about the Heisman race. If you are a Boise State Broncos fan, then you must worry a little! Well, your fav RB Ashton Jeanty has slipped further down as far as the Heisman odds are concerned. It’s the same Jeanty who was thought to give Colorado Buffaloes dual threat Travis Hunter a tough time. But look how the tables have turned! While the Broncos raged against San Diego State, Jeanty somehow was away from the limelight. And guess what adds more to the concern? The RB’s ‘monstrous’ uniform adjustments.
Remember the time when Jeanty was able to beat Hunter in the Heisman race? The craze has been so real that analysts even considered comparing the Boise State RB with past RB winners like Reggie Bush, Alabama Crimson Tide’s Derrick Henry, and the 2009 Heisman winner Mark Ingram. His peak performance came at a time when Shedeur was thrown under the bus for making a costly mistake against Kansas State throwing a 50-50 ball to WR Will Sheppard. On the other hand, Hunter was sidelined by a shoulder injury. Time for Jeanty to get the bitter taste of the competition. The updated Heisman odds are here, and let me tell you it does not look good for the Boise State RB.
Updated Heisman Odds, per FanDuel:
Travis Hunter +150
Dillon Gabriel +270
Cam Ward +270
Ashton Jeanty +850
Cade Klubnik +1500— College Football Report (@CFBRep) November 2, 2024

As per the updates dropped by FanDuel, Hunter is at +150, Oregon Ducks QB Dillon Gabriel is at +270, and the Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward is in a 50-50 situation with +270 odds. Then comes Jeanty’s turn, standing at +850 odds and the last one in the line is Clemson Tigers QB Cade Klubnik at +1500 odds. But what went wrong with Jeanty? Through seven games, the Broncos RB has recorded 1,376 rushing yards and 18 rushing touchdowns on 159 carries. On November 1, even though the Broncos had won 56-17 over the Aztecs, Boise State had not seen much out of their RB who came up with 15 carries rushing 37 yards. Even if we keep the stats aside, something looked odd with his uniform on Friday night.

Ashton Jeanty’s left arm conundrum
Things looked good for the Broncos until last week when an “off” game knocked back Jeanty’s Heisman chances. While he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown that guaranteed a win over UNLV, he fell prey to an injury in his left elbow. Even though such injuries are common, looks like in Jeanty’s case it can’t be passed off so casually.
On Friday evening it was evident that the injury was going to give him a tough time. The RB was spotted wearing a bulky brace on his left arm. This was enough for fans to take up to social media wondering the reasons behind such stoic protection. The Barstool’s college football podcast Unnecessary Roughness too posted about their concern.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Ashton Jeanty's Heisman dream slipping away due to his recent performance and uniform distractions?
Have an interesting take?
The tweet read, “Ashton Jeanty is playing with a monstrous brace.” What’s more concerning is the fact that normally the running backs are not hindered by a left elbow injury. But if the pain holds them back or they need to pay excessive mental focus on holding the pigskin then that is something we need to worry about. All these seem to be falling into place for Ashton Jeanty who failed to make an impact in the first half. 15 carries for just 37 yards, HEARTBREAKING!
