Warren Sapp's fiery coaching style—key to Colorado's success or just entertaining sidelines drama?

Deion Sanders is doing everything in his power to make Colorado a legit championship contender this season. Fans and veterans have been rallying behind a revolutionized program from the very beginning of the season. While Sanders lived up to the expectation early in the season, the momentum kinda fizzled out against Kansas State. But, a dominant win against Cincinnati State handed him their first bowl eligibility key after 4 years. The win over Texas solidified their redemption, whereas today’s blowout game against Utah clearly spoke of how far Sanders’ has come as a coach to turn around the worst power conference team to a top dog. But he didn’t do this alone. Apart from the talented players’ recruits, Sanders had some elite NFL names in his coaching crews. Warren Sapp has been the prime among them. His passionate on-field gestures tonight made his daughter swell with pride.

Sapp is a new addition to the Colorado staff, joining this season as a senior quality control analyst and he has done his job with extreme precision and grit so far. In the fourth quarter of Saturday’s blockbuster game, when the Buffaloes were about to rack up the win, FOX cameras highlighted the former Defensive Player of the Year turned red hot, asking his player to pull out a strong finish as per the plan. The expression on his face speaks for the weight it holds.

‘Look at his eyes,” said the color commentator. “And you wonder why these kids are playing so hard. Look at that!”. Daughter Marcedes Sapp watched it from the drawing room and burst into pride. She couldn’t help but give an immediate shout-out to his father through an IG story.  An overwhelming caption reads, ”Forever proud of you, dad.”

Sap fathered six kids. Growing up watching the father hon his craft in the gridiron, daughter Marcedes developed an early knack for sports. She chose soccer as her field to excel. She started as a goalkeeper at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando. Dad Sapp has always been a steadfast support in her career as well as in life. The NFL mogul prioritized spending quality time with his kids over shared meals and lazy afternoons. But nothing overpowers his professional pursuit.

The camera didn’t lie. It’s beyond just any regular job for the veteran football freak. Sapp is loving every second of his coaching endeavor under Deion Sanders.

Have an interesting take?

Deion Sanders has a strong nose for selecting his co-fighters in a rousing team culture. While he picked Warren Sapp as a graduate assistant coach, he must have seen some intangible potential within the NFL Hall of Famer. Within months. It turned out his instinct was on point. Coach Sapp adapted to his roles and responsibilities and happily lived up to the hope.

Coaching the kids for a better future has always been on his bucket list. Amassing scores as player is one thing, but getting the player ready to score is another. The NFL great finds the latter more fulfilling.

”For someone that never wanted to do this, I am really addicted to it right now. The babies are really giving me a purpose in life, and I’m enjoying it,” said Sapp in a pre-season interview.

A visit to Colorado last season locked him in for good. The way the players approached him was beyond any professionalism. ”These kids call me at 5:30 in the morning, ‘Coach, you wanna come watch tape with me?’ It’s crazy. I’m like, ‘Yeah, give me a purpose to get off the couch!’ So trust me, I was on my couch watching MSNBC, so I’m loving this. I am loving this.”, the assistant coach noted.

He was not at all exaggerating; you see! We will look forward to much more magic under the Sanders-Sapp duo for the rest of the season.
