Will Mahomes' presence at Texas Tech inspire a win, or is it just a nostalgic gesture?

Keeping up with the NFL? Don’t worry; here are some tidbits about the face of the big league, and if you’re lucky enough, you might catch him in Texas. Few figures shine brighter than Patrick Mahomes. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP has a long-running love affair with his alma mater, Texas Tech, that’s as strong as one of his deep passes. Mahomes’ connection with the Red Raiders runs deep, from signing endorsement deals with their athletes to showing up at games decked out in Texas Tech red and black. And he got a surprise for you, Raiders fans.

“Galvanized” in a bold mix of Texas Tech flair and a Mahomes-inspired edge that has fans buzzing. In their cage fight with the Deion Sanders-led Buffs, the Red Raiders will look to Wreck em, with their brand new “Mahomes Strategy” threads. A fitting praise to the Chiefs QB1 Pat Mahomes and his partnership with Adidas. The uniform will feature the former Texas Tech standout’s cool “Gladiator” logo on the jersey. Try spotting the logo on the model player’s gloves and the jersey in the reveal video here. Now, with an electrifying uniform collaboration designed in his honor. A question that only Mahomes himself can answer, and we can only speculate. Mahomes’ presence at the game would be a massive boost for his former school. Who is eyeing a potential record boost to 7-3? Even after injuring his ankle on Monday night, he won against Tampa Bay. He hilariously denied KC coach Andy Reid to not take him off and somehow played till the fourth quarter. The only thing to show is sheer grit and perseverance. But you must be thinking, injured, he must not be practicing, so you might as well come to watch the Texas game. Right?

This is where he defeated all of us yet again. KC’s big red guy impressed as Pat did not “miss anything” and has “done a good job” in practice, he informed. This guy even on one leg managed to record his best game of the year in the win against Tampa. The 29-year-old bagged 291 passing yards to go with a season-high three touchdowns. And the Chiefs play the Broncos tomorrow, which he might play. So, it might be a bit too much to ask him to come to see his former side play. But you never know.
